San Gennaro is my go to restaurant on Arthur Avenue. I am never disappointed. It's a truly Italian restaurant, with Italians working and cooking the food. Love the Bronzino al forno, and this time had a mascarpone gelato affogato that was wonderful!

I grew up in the Bronx New York but like most natives rarely enjoyed GEMS in other neighborhoods. Sadly up until I was about 9 I lived in walking distance of this beautiful what is called little Italy in the Bronx . We never called it little Italy growing up . We just new the neighborhood had many Italians and the awesome smell from the bakery every morning . Now that I am all grown up and earn enough money to indulge food and culture in a different way . I want to give a warm thank you to this wonderful restaurant named San Gennaro in the Bronx little Italy not Manhattan. The waiter was a absolutely amazing as you will see in this video. The owner and people worked treated us like family . It doesn’t matter if you live in New York or just visiting. The soul of New York has its footprints all over this neighborhood. A true Bronx Gem.

We went to dinner at the San Gennaro on Arthur Ave in Little Italy in The Bronx after our bus trip to Yankee Stadium. First time here on Thu 5/22/25 4:30pm. We were greeted & seated by the owner Gennaro Martinelli. We ordered wine ($14 & $11) while we looked over the menu. We had the very good Sole Oreganata w/ roasted veggies ($26) & very good & hot Cavatelli con Salsiccia e Broccoli di Rape ($23) Including warm bread w/ a zesty olive oil dip. a very good value & quite tasty. Service & food were very good. Note: street parking is scarce but, there are paid public lots in close proximity. Thank you Gennaro & your staff for a fine meal after the Yankee victory. An amazing restaurant! One of our favorites. If you want a small intimate dinner, as opposed to the larger, noisy restaurants on Arthur Ave. this is the place. It never disappoints, and the food is freshly made and absolutely delicious.

Excellent, as always! Nice bottle of wine along with delicious salmon and specialty linguini and shrimp entrees! Topped off the meal with Nutella filled zeppole! Very nice! We've been dining at Sam Genarro's since they opened and it's consistently delicious! Great hospitality too!

A Must-Visit Gem! I had an absolutely delightful experience at this restaurant! The Pancetta Carbonara I ordered was cooked to perfection—creamy, flavorful, and with just the right texture. The prosciutto salad was generously portioned and well-balanced, and my lemonade was refreshingly cold and delicious. To top it all off, the tiramisu tasted truly authentic—rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. But beyond the incredible food, I have to give a special shoutout to the service! Gabby and Luigi took care of me, and they were both beyond wonderful. Gabby's energy is contagious, and her smile lights up the entire place. They even made me a lovely video, which was such a thoughtful touch! The restaurant itself has a beautiful, cozy ambiance that makes you feel right at home. If you visit (which you definitely should!), please remember to tip well when you receive great service—these amazing people truly deserve it! Can't wait to come back soon!
