Amazing intimate and very authentic. We travel to Italy multiple times a year and this restaurant brings us such memories of our European experience. The owner is onsite. They vint their own wines. Their food is traditional southern Italian and made with quality ingredients. The team seems to work well together. San Gennaro is my go to restaurant on Arthur Avenue. I am never disappointed. It's a truly Italian restaurant, with Italians working and cooking the food. Love the Bronzino al forno, and this time had a mascarpone gelato affogato that was wonderful!

I grew up in the Bronx New York but like most natives rarely enjoyed GEMS in other neighborhoods. Sadly up until I was about 9 I lived in walking distance of this beautiful what is called little Italy in the Bronx . We never called it little Italy growing up . We just new the neighborhood had many Italians and the awesome smell from the bakery every morning . Now that I am all grown up and earn enough money to indulge food and culture in a different way .
