The food was a little dry, but I must say it was very flavorful. They were also very quick to bring the food out.

Went here last night for the final time. Left disappointed, hungry, and $60 poorer. When I walked in, I was greeted by a sign warning me that food supplier costs have increased, so they had to slightly increase their prices. I should have paid closer attention to that warning, because to call those increases modest is the understatement of the century. But, we ventured in anyway. Sat down, and they brought us our typical homemade chips and salsa, which, as always, were excellent. Then we looked at the menu, which we noticed right away was significantly scaled back from our last visit, and everything was way more expensive. For example, as thirsty as I was, I had to stick with water, because I could not bring myself to pay $5 for a glass of soda with no refills. We ordered a guacamole for the table, and two burritos Colorado. We waited a very long time for our food. The guacamole finally came out. I paid $15 for this, and what I got was a palm-sized bowl that was half full of diced tomatoes, and the other half guacamole. As if the portion size wasn't disappointing enough, I dipped the chip and was overcome by the smell of lime juice. Should've realized that I shouldn't go any further, but against my better judgment, I went for it, and to the surprise of nobody, all I tasted was lime. I thought maybe I would acquire the taste, so I tried it on a few more chips, but it was not edible to me, so I let my wife have the rest. Finally our burritos came out. Now, while these were EXCELLENT, I wouldn't exactly call them burritos, and I certainly wouldn't say that they were worth $19 each for such a small portion. The steak inside was perfectly cooked, but they were a little stingy with the cheese poured over the burrito. It looked like they just grabbed a fingerful of shredded cheese, threw it on top, and good enough. After finishing my entree and realizing that this was not going to hold me over for the night, and calculating the bill in my mind realizing that this was going to hurt, I decided that I would not be returning again as the portion size, food quality, and menu options had decreased, with a sharp increase in prices. We made the decision to order our fried ice cream as a goodbye to this place, and even that left me disappointed. They used to put fresh cherries on the plate as garnish, no more. They used to put caramel and raspberry syrup under the ice cream, this time they inexplicably added chocolate syrup too, which was enough to make me not like it anymore. The fried shell under the ice cream used to be easy enough to break with just the spoon, but this time, it seemed that the shell was undercooked and doughy, and it was significantly harder to break. After finally managing to crack off a piece of the shell, at which point our ice cream had mostly turned into milk soup, I gave it a taste and the massive flavor clash left me unable to take another bite, only cementing my decision to never return.

It saddens my horribly to leave this review, and to see what this restaurant has become, as this was a regular spot for me and my wife. The food was always stellar, the prices were fair, and we never left hungry. Unfortunately, all of those pros were reversed on me, and I ended up paying about $60 for a meal that I was just not satisfied with. So as I said, I won't be returning. Everything has changed for the worse.

Nice place to eat. Food was very good. Staff was attentive. We at here in a Sunday for dinner. Its location is very convenient to Van Cortland Park, public transport and Manhattan University. Portions were large and menu had some creative choices.

Tasty food, good drinks, peaceful area.... Right across from the beautiful Van Courtlandt Park field.... No complaints .. but service is kinda slow, usually understaffed... And very old digs as far as the decor... But a cool experience over all, especially if doing other stuff in the area... I wouldn't go out of my way for it tho.

We specifically searched for a kid friendly place to eat. This place came up, it was pretty empty, but had an A rating and was spacious. We were seated and given menus, we ordered drinks, they didn't have Mexican Coke that was on menu, my wife got a hibiscus drink which she liked. I got a Jarritos orange drink. We got three apps. These were pretty good, but one order was forgotten, so we canceled it. The entrees came and I was hoping for a better taste. My wife liked her tacos, my daughter didn't like her entree, neither did I. It lacked flavor and disappointing. The service girl was ok, not great, but she tried. I don't think I will come back here. It's unfortunate.

They changed owners and changed the menu ?️ horrible. We went as a family to celebrate my daughter's graduation. She likes Mexican food and the meat was super dry, burnt with no flavor, she couldn't eat it until her appetite went away and my other daughter ordered some enchiladas. Those enchiladas had mushrooms. Firstly, the menu did not say that mushrooms came, secondly, thank God, my daughter was not allergic, otherwise it would have been a huge problem and thirdly, I had never heard of enchiladas with mushrooms, maybe haiga, but the menu did not say that they came. It came with mushrooms and I ordered a flautas, the meat was too dry and the chicken was terrible. Going to the same place for 10 years and unfortunately they changed owners and damaged it. I won't go again. The only good thing was that there was karaoke.

Chips are freshly made crisp not too salty or oily. They make everything fresh you can taste it. Good portions and always feel good after eating it.
