Dear Management,
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent visit to your establishment.
I was seated alone at the bar and ordered food to go. While seated, I purchased one drink for someone I knew who was sitting next to me, but I was not part of their group. When I went to pay my bill, I noticed a 20% gratuity had been added. Your menu clearly states that parties of four are subject to a 20% gratuity. However, I was dining alone.
When I brought this to the manager’s attention, I was told that as the customer, I should make sure the server knows that I am by myself. Respectfully, it is not the customer’s responsibility to ensure staff properly enter the correct number of guests into the system. The receipt listed four guests, which was inaccurate. The gratuity was eventually removed, but the situation should not have required confrontation.
Unfortunately, the food quality was equally disappointing. I ordered the grilled pork chops with white rice and sweet plantains, which the menu described as a popular dish. The pork chops were extremely tough, unappealing in cut, and tasted old. The white rice was undercooked and hard. The only acceptable portion of the meal was the sweet plantains, which appeared fresh.
Between the billing error and the poor food quality, this experience did not meet reasonable expectations for service or standards. I hope you will review your procedures regarding automatic gratuity application and address the kitchen quality issues to prevent similar experiences for other customers.
I would appreciate a response regarding how this matter will be handled.

Definitely expected alot more of this place. We were greeted and seated upon walking in with no reservation so that was nice. However once seated we waited about 20 mins before having to ask for a waiter which was at random, the waiter came, didn't introduce himself and wasn't really paying attention to what we were ordering as he kept looking at the other table. No water or anything. Once we received our water it was in a cloudy plastic cup (looked dirty). Our food arrived, I realized the Skirt steak was really thick and practically raw when I ordered it Medium. I had to send it back. The food overall was not it. I wish I took pictures of everything but honestly I was just thrown off. The waiter only came over once and we didn't see him till it was time for the check, which again it was like we were calling for him the entire time. The service and the food wasn't good. The only good thing was the music. I'm not one to complain but I'm definitely not coming here again.

A hidden gem in the bronx new village area. I had a wonderful time with Peter gunz, Melba from the famed restaurant Melba's, the bronx borough president was there, Jimmy & his sister was there. The legend Eric B, was there also. And many other stars and of course Db. Shark the celebrities favorite was in the house.
