Taqueria huarache & restaurante mexicano

I've been looking for a good taqueria for a while, and this was the one. This place would be above average in LA, so it's way above the competition in NYC. I had a birria plate, and it was perfect.

Yummy yummy yummy! This food was delicious and authentic. Finally some good Mexican food in NYC! They were cash or Zelle only. They had some seating inside, mostly bar table height with one regular 4 seat table.
I had a huarache, which was perfectly fried with all the right toppings. My husband enjoyed the birria tacos, with the tortillas that had been classically marinated and pan fried. We'll be back.

I didn’t dine in however I had ordered 6 chicken tacos which was a mistake & I should’ve ordered 3. I didn’t like their tacos. The chicken is regular white chicken dry & barely seasoned. Tortillas were thick, I didn’t like it.

I loved the small setting, big enough to sit inside though and artwork inside.
Great service ad the food was delicious.
The handmade corn quesedilla with all pastor was amazing.

What is happening with this place!!! Bad service. My orders used to arrive fine before. Now they arrive poorly packaged, they don't even send me sauces. What am I supposed to do? I call to ask why they forgot and the man tells me that they will send it to me later!! I'm supposed to pay for my food. They should have more hygiene, right!! I usually see that the same person who serves and takes the money is the same person who places the orders. That's disgusting, you should come to the city to see that detail.

A much better Mexican Restaurant is the one on Tremont called “Elena’s Restaurant” which are way better, buy from them instead!

Elena’s Restaurant has much better food, they have better nachos, better tortas, better quesadillas, better everything!
