The wings, GOOD.The lemonade, excellent. That rasta pasta, DON'T. I got it home and it was just spicy noodles and peppers. Not ONE shrimp, not ONE speckle of chicken....

Time 3:35 PM - Sunday, December 10, 2023 :I arrived at the location there were 8 individuals in line in front of me. Immediately, I recognized that the service was lacking. There was one sister dishing out the food and she was precise with the portions, and very slow. I placed myself near the door and watched 3 customers walk out the door. The fast food place consisted of 3 rows of tables with 3 chairs for customers. One of the row had supply on top of a table taking of two places for people to sit.I was unable to rate the food because I couldn’t wait any longer.

Sometimes disappointment can turn out well. I originally went to this restaurant because I wanted to eat fried chicken gizzards, a dish listed as being served here, but unfortunately they didn't have any. So I ended up ordering Jerk Chicken with Mac and Cheese and Rasta Pasta. I also had an iced tea and lemonade drink. The food here is dangerously delicious. The chicken was so tender that it was almost impossible to stop eating. The jerk sauce was so tasty that, to paraphrase Guy Fieri, you could have put an old shoe in it and it would have been delicious. The portion size was very generous, I'd say a good two pounds of food. I will warn you that first don't come here if you don't like good food, second don't come unless you can loosen your belt a couple of notches and lastly don't be fooled by the modest appearance of this place. In short, visit this place soon, you won't be disappointed.

Oh, Tessey's International Kitchen, where do I start? As a fervent food enthusiast, my expectations were high, yet my experience was, well, a bit of a rollercoaster - and not the fun kind.First off, let's talk about the whiting. It seemed to have gone through a spa treatment of sogginess, completely missing the crispy memo. Whether it was a delivery mishap or a container conspiracy, the result was a sad, damp fish, desperately needing seasoning. The tartar sauce tried its best to be the hero, but alas, it could only do so much.Moving on to the Mac and cheese - or as I'd like to call it, 'Mac and Mystery.' It was so bland, I wondered if the cheese was just a figment of my imagination. The noodles had gone past al dente to 'al don't-te.' They were so mushy, I contemplated whether I was eating pasta or pudding.Speaking of pudding, the banana pudding was a paradox in a cup. It had this peculiar artificial vanilla vibe that made me question its existential authenticity. It was like expecting a symphony but getting a kazoo solo instead. Now, I'm not one to shy away from spending on quality food, but this felt like a gamble where the house always wins. The pricing seemed to be playing in a league of its own, not quite in sync with the quality of ingredients or the culinary execution. So, there you have it - a 2 out of 5 stars for Tessey's International Kitchen. It's not all bad, but it's definitely not all good either. If they align their prices with the quality on offer, it might just turn the odds in their favor. Until then, my fellow epicureans, you might want to roll the dice elsewhere.

African soul food?? This place has amazing fried chicken, collard greens, fried fish. It's not very big, but you can sit and eat or do takeaway. The woman who owns the place is really great and does a lot of catering for the community. My father looks forward to ordering from this place all the time, he brags about it, so naturally, we had to try it. I can't wait until I come back.

Stopped in from Connecticut to support a #BlackOwned restaurant that was close to us and the food was great and the deserts was phenomenal. Great speaking with the owner.

They use to be good. It’s honestly hit or miss with them. You dont get a friendly demeanor which is one of the key assets to keeping a successful business running. The owner you never see her one days is a short Mexican man the next it’s a rude Caribbean gal. So you get different customer experiences and also difference and portions in quality of food. They need to step their game up. I and others have been leaving detail reviews because we believe they can be better

I made an order to pick up. I ordered the catfish, greens and potato salad. The catfish wasn’t seasoned, the collard greens were bland and cut to big and lots of stems in the greens the potato salad was alright. The banana pudding was good but price went up to $10.89 smh. The food has fell off and it cost me almost $40 feel like I just wasted money.

Tessey's is amazingly delightful! Literally, the BEST soul food in the Bronx. (On par with Blvd Bistro in Harlem, NY). The oxtail, Mac cheese and collard greens taste like a (loving) hug on a plate.

The food is ok. The service is outstandingly BAD!!!!! The food is WAY OVERPRICED. The food also leaves a very heavy, unpleasant aftertaste, as if the fried chicken is cooked in fish grease. I’m never going back
