I'm a U.S. Army Military Veteran and a Hagen Dazs Rewards Member. I frequent the Bronvville, NY store. I went there today and ordered my usual for my wife and myself. For my wife, I ordered a Black and White shake with whipped cream. For myself, I ordered a very thick chocolate shake with whipped cream. Our server, Nayeem, said it would be $5:00 extra for the extra scoop of ice cream to make it thick. I said I ordered it before and if It was extra, it was $1:50 not $5:00. I said forget it, Just give it to me a little thicker. He finished making it and gave it to me with no whipped cream like I asked for. He took it back and put whipped cream on them. I told him I usually get a Military discount and he asked for my ID even though I was wearing a US Army Veteran's mask. He was condescending and abrupt. I showed my ID and paid with my discount. All previous times I ordered in the store, I never had a problem or felt like my server was doing me a favor by letting me buy a shake. He should have been more professional and friendly. Nayeem couldn't work for me for 5 seconds. I have always encountered friendly, accommodating people behind the counter. I will be sure to tell all my Military fellow Veterans to think twice about buying at Hagan Dazs and especially this Bronxville, NY Store! Hooah & Semper Fi

I witnessed a male employee aggressively confronting a group of women, demanding that they leave the restaurant due to supposed complaints from other customers. These women had purchased ice cream from the kind cashier at the counter and were simply sitting at their table. His behavior appeared to be unjustified and, unfortunately, seemed influenced by the fact that they were speaking Spanish.
While I recognize that this area is affluent and predominantly white, such treatment is completely unacceptable. I hope this incident does not reflect the company’s values and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure all customers are treated with dignity and respect moving forward.

I will never shop at this Haagen Dazs in Bronxville again. Now let me tell you why. This Haagen Dazs store does not care about their customers. Or they probably don't care about this community. All they care about is money and greed.
You see, I was here recently with my family and some friends. I have a special needs child. And we probably spent at least $50 amongst all of us with ice cream. I ordered a small cup of ice cream for my wife and a small cup of ice cream for my son. When we sat at the table, my son did not want his, he wanted my wife's ice cream. So I went up to the counter and I explained to the gentleman behind the counter that my son didn't like this flavor and if I could get the flavor that I bought for my wife.
So the person went ahead and gave me another small cup of the flavor that my wife got, But, when I went to leave. He said, no, I have to pay for this. And I said, well, I just want to change the one that my son doesn't want for the flavor that my wife had. And they said, no. So I went ahead and paid for the third cup and gave them back the second cup because I was not going to eat it. And my son was not going to eat it.
Now, being a small business owner, myself, I know what the right thing would have been to do here, and that is to simply exchange the item. Starbucks would have done that. Pretty much any restaurant you go to would have done that. But not this Haagen Dazs. So after about a minute, this not sitting well with me, I asked for the manager.
And I explained to him the situation. His response was once somebody eats something, they can't exchange it or take it back. And I explained to him, my son hadn't eaten any of it. He just didn't want it because he wanted what my wife had. Again, the manager said, sorry, and went through their policy again.
Eventually, the manager said, well, I'll give you a mini cup of free ice cream. And I said, I don't need more ice cream. I actually gave you back ice cream that I didn't want. So, to me that was not an acceptable alternative. And so again, I just am not happy with the store and I'll never come back here again.
So if you expect better service from establishments that you frequent, I wouldn't come back here again. And if you do come back, well, let them know that you saw this review and let them know that you don't agree with how they handled that situation. I think it'd be very important for them to know that the community cares about customer service.
