Varney’s is awesome! Whether you go for a lobster roll and margarita in the summer or French onion soup in the winter, they just always knock it out of the park! Not to mention they have the BEST mussels - red or white!

I'd like to share my review of Varneys, a restaurant located in the Brookhaven/ Bellport area. I visited with a few friends to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and I must say, I've had corned beef and cabbage at various places, but this was truly exceptional. The dish was beautifully prepared and exceeded my expectations. The meat was tender, juicy, and not at all fatty, and the portions were generous. The cabbage was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were delightful. I also enjoyed the brown mustard that accompanied the meal. To top off this wonderful experience, I indulged in a St. Patrick’s cheesecake with a baileys touch The service was excellent; the staff was cheerful and eager to please, making the hospitality truly outstanding. A special thanks to the chef and staff for anincredible experience , making my St. Patrick’s Day so memorable!

I went for lunch during restaurant week and really enjoyed it. Had French onion soup smothered in cheese just how I like it, shrimp cocktail, and Philly cheesesteak hero. Bread was soft, and fresh. Waitresses were wonderful. It's a small place, only 13 tables but I really enjoyed it and would go back.

I love seafood. Traveled and lived all across America, Europe, and Japan. Varney's is a total hidden gem. The service is friendly and welcoming. The place extremely cozy and welcoming. Now the star of the show is the food. We ordered baked clams, mussels, and lobster roll. I was impressed with the freshness and taste. Never judge a book by its cover. Like many other reviewers,
Varney's is one of those places you want to share with everyone and hope it's only there for you. I urge you to come share this experience with this family owned restaurant. I will be back when visiting Long Island.

On a rainy Saturday night I took my mom here for dinner. I’ve passed the unassuming little restaurant 100’s of times growing up in Patchogue. We walked in to a friendly greeting telling us to sit wherever we would be comfortable. I ordered the fish tacos off the special board and my mom got a hamburger. The hamburger was good and came with a side I think it was about $15. Fair price. The fish tacos were a plate of 3 and I had fries. I’m not sure of the price probably around $15 too. They were so good. I mean delicious. I could easily have eaten more because they were so good but actually the portions were perfect. I think they were sea bass over pickled cabbage in a soft shell. Everyone around us was getting the mussels. They looked like a huge portion and came with warm bread.
It’s a very simple place with attentive service. The menu is small but there is something for everyone. Make sure to check out the specials. Definitely recommend.
