Walking into this bakery is like walking into a time warp back to the days when traditional Italian bakeries ruled the roost! Having grown up in RI, I miss the days when my mom would take me to “the Hill”, the RI version of Bensonhurst (or Arthur Avenue in the Bronx) to buy Italian bread, wine biscuits and delicious pastries and cookies that were always accompanied with friendly service and is exactly what you get at the 18th Avenue Bakery!

Best of the best. Prices are more then fair, quality is unmatched - plus it’s walking distance from family. The taste is unbelievable and super fresh. This is one of those old school places you’ll see on social media- a hidden gem now, it’s gotta be there 50 years. You have to go try it, I’m 99% sure it’s cash only. Yes the bread from that masterpiece is from there and was baked a few hours earlier. Cookies were unbelievable. Can’t be beat! This is the kinda Old school place that hipsters try to copy/recreate- with the words artesian. You have to try this place.

Best bakery in brooklyn. My family and I have been going there since I was a little girl. I live in Georgia now but everytime I go to Brooklyn for a visit I load up with at least 20 loaves of bread and cookies to bring back. The owners are wonderful, the store itself is clean and of course everything is delicious. Only thing I wish is that they shipped..lol thank you for being a staple in our lives. -Christina Chiarello

I stopped in on Sunday morning for 7 layer cakes and cream puffs with cannoli cream. I think they should have the prices posted. The 7 layer cakes were $25 per pound which is outrageous compared to other similar quality bakeries in the area. Also, I was given regular cream puffs instead of the ones with cannoli cream (it's possible that I could have mis-ordered); but in any case, these regular ones were rather bland. For $8 per pound, the cannoli cream ones are worth it, but the others were nothing special. Overall, this is a good bakery, but given that they don't accept debit/ credit cards, I think they should definitely post their prices.
