The Jolof Wrap was mind-blowing. I can’t recommend it enough.

Actually life changing food. So tasty, rich but somehow not heavy? I will be going through everything on the menu!

The worst food I ever tasted. The akara burger is nasty and not properly cooked. There moi moi is nasty soggy and undercooked. I don’t think they are Nigerian because this is the worst food ever give me my money back I had to throw it away.

Vegan Nigerian food. Most of the menu items use akara as the main protein, which is a type of deep fried bean fritter. It’s really excellent and gives everything a distinctive flavor and texture. I’d recommend starting with the Made in Lagos burger. They can be a bit slow, so you should order ahead online if you’re going to pick your food up.

Stopped by Akara House after hearing lots of good things. It was great! Had a good chat with the owner and had a great lunch. I plan to return soon.

Hearty portions and deliciously rich flavors.
Got the oyster wrap this time and it was soo good and filling. I love the house made hot sauce.
Lemonade tea was also great.

I am surprised by all the very high ratings. I was not exactly blown away by this place. I ordered the Made in Lagos burger and the homemade lemonade.
The lemonade was refreshing and a bit different in am undescribable way. Sweet but a little salty, felt very refreshing on a warm day.
The Made in Lagos burger was a little bit of a letdown. The toppings were excellent and flavorful, but the akara patty was so dry and dense, it really subtracted from the overall burger experience.
There are 2 benches to wait for your food and a small bar countertop with a few chairs if you want to stay and eat.

Was excited to try! I ordered the Victorian Island Burger without vegan cheese and yucca fries. Upon first bite, all I could taste was very sour mustard and was instantly turned off 🤮. The mustard and mayo were the stars on this bean-based patty, I would’ve preferred the opposite. Although the bean-patty tasted a bit like bread. The $9 yucca fries were thick and overly dry. 😒 We left very hungry still and ended up eating Halal food down the block. I won’t try it again.

Yum, I loved the joloff rice, moi moi and kale. Honey beans dont contain honey, and they make burgers out of these nigerian beans. At first glance it might look like there's a bunch of burgers with honey. My friends loved the burgers Very limited seating and small space Updated from previous review on 2025-05-26

We had a great dinner here. Seating is limited, although there is also outdoor seating. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The food was unusual for us, but great. The burger was very thick and barely manageable, but very good.
