Love their cheese puffs and currants rolls.

Allan’s is not what it used to be the bread is hard the pastry well is not pastry at all it’s not flakey it’s too much shortening. I gave it a 2 because the patties are below what an average homemaker can make.

On Sundays and holidays get there before 7am, or you will be standing in line for an hour or more. So many people love Allah's bakery food just like I do and my family do Too

After all these years, this bakery is still a dump, with underutilized glass showcases and boxes cluttering the space, such that patrons don’t even have enough space to line up. They don’t even have a menu of products. It’s as if they are stuck in time. It’s quite depressing to go there to buy goods.

I've been coming to Allan's Bakery since I was a child. One of the best bakeries I've ever been to, and they still make the most amazing Currant Rolls. I will say that their cake quality isn't as amazing as it used to be. I find that the past few times, it's been extremely dry.

Friendly staff, fresh & delicious Trinidadian baked goods at a reasonable price. However their beef patties could use some seasoning but to fix this I cut open the patty and some added Grace Hot Sauce which gave it flavor.

Wheelchair accessibility: You or someone will have to open the door for you...& usually someone around will offer assistance.

Now I see why the line circles inside the store and probably outside at times! Great homemade food. I had the codfish balls and the beef patties. Reminds me of the codfish cakes my friend's mother used to make! Delicious!!! The beef patties were perfect: the dough was well balanced, not doughy or dry and the beef well seasoned, not too spicy, too dry, or too greasy. I wish I had bought more, but there's always next time! My friend said she always gets the currant rolls, so I think I will try them next time. Service was courteous and quick so they can accommodate a lot of customers. Hope to make another visit soon!

I don't usually write reviews, but after my last experience with Allan's Bakery I felt compelled to. I have been patronizing Allan's bakery for years. On Christmas Eve, I ordered my usual sponge cake with pineapple filling at 8am. I was told that it would be ready at 5pm. I understood the late pick-up because it was Christmas Eve. I got to the store around 6pm and waited for 25 minutes to pick up the cake they said was ready because I called before I went. I finally picked up the cake amongst all the confusion in the store. When I got in my car and placed it on the seat, the top piece started sliding all over the place. I kept shifting the box so it would stay in place. When I finally made it home, the cake, filling, and icing was a mess. I could not take it to the planned event for Christmas. The next day was Christmas so they were closed. I called the day after and was on hold forever. Finally, I was put through to the "so called" manager. She told me that this has never happened before and the cake was good when I left so I must have melted it somehow. "There is a first time for everything". Not sure how that could have happened unless I drove home in a sauna. The heat was not even on in my car because it was not freezing cold that day. Me looking at the cake for a hot minute in the store before leaving does not mean that it was in perfect condition. I commute to this bakery from Queens. All I expected was a sorry, or i'll reimburse half your money or something. Received nothing but, sorry the cake was fine when you saw it and left. Allan's bakery would rather lose a loyal customer for $47. I was so disgusted and disappointed in their treatment of a customer whose FAMILY and FRIENDS patronize their establishment. Like I said, I had to write this review. Hopefully someone reads it and takes heed despite their 4 star reviews.

we had the currant roll and the guava pastry - both were excellent! the guava filling was too sweet for me but the pastry itself was very flaky and crunchy. i don't know how they do it. the currant roll was also quite good but was a bit too sweet as well. no photos because we finished them too quickly 🥲
