I walked in and made a to-go order. I have been trying poke at the local restaurants and it was Aloha's turn today. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be giving them another try after the thoroughly underwhelming poke bowl I was served today.I was the sole customer during an early afternoon lunch hour. I tried to make a custom bowl order and add a second protein (spicy tuna), also remove tomatoes from their Salmon bowl, somehow the order wound up incorrect.Even though the server and I went over the custom bowl order together, and I was the only order made.I should also mention that the portion of Salmon that was served was miniscule, the only thing the order got right was no lettuce.I was served the largest bowl of bland sticky rice and miniscule toppings I have had a long my Poke tasting journey here in Bay Ridge. The only thing I can say that was nice about the bowl, was that there was a generous helping of crispy onions, compared to the light sprinkle you typically get elsewhere.Although, that was covering the fact that there was very little protein, two stars for the food, more for the service, as the server was very kind and tried to be helpful.

So delicious! And gave more ramen broth to go. Ginormous dishes of ramen. Delicious Thai icetea. Def a gem for Bay Ridge.
I was so excited to get a poke place close by! However, my food at Aloha was very disappointing. I'm being generous by giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I feel bad giving them 1 star. I dined in and I made a crazy choice of the chicken stick bowl and eel rice ball (Onigri). I assumed that the chicken with peanut, carrot and cucumber would be like a combo version of Thai chicken satay and Vietnamese Bahn mi, but in a rice bowl. They warned me they were out of of Sriracha, but they had spicy mayo.My eel onigi arrived heated, in a plastic bag. Which is just, wrong. The nori wrap was warm and soft. It's supposed to be crisp. Even Japanese market onigri nori is crisp. And there was no sweet vinegar flavor in the rice ball. Then my bowl arrived, in a clear plastic to go bowl, which I didn't expect for dining in. The chicken was kind of chunky, very crispy, and no peanut sauce. My bowl was mostly rice, also not seasoned with sushi rice sweet vinegar. There was just no flavor. My bowl was about half filled with rice when I was done. The wait staff seemed really nice. But they have to improve the food.
Worst Boba tea of my life. Soup was good though
I ordered a grapefruit tea. It tastes amazing. Not too sweet and still keep the tea flavor. Definitely grab another one when passing by. ?
Love the ramen! The best in bay ridge?
Great comfort food! Ramen hits the right spot!

My poke bowl was $20 and there was pretty much no salmon or tuna. This place is extremely overpriced and probably the worst poke bowl I’ve had. I asked for half sushi rice and half salad, but my bowl was all rice. There was only two small pieces of lettuce. The sushi rice is not seasoned with rice vinegar. It is plain rice. I don’t recommend this place but if you insist on ordering here, ordering from the chownow website is over 20% more expensive. If I’m spending $20 the bowl shouldn’t be all rice.

Cozy little shop for some delicious poke bowls! We enjoyed the spam musubi and takoyaki, both spot on! Also tried the Aloha poke bowl which was a nice mix of fresh tuna and salmon and a ton of toppings, not heavy and a perfect summer lunch! The katsu curry was good but lacked the fukujinzuke (sweet Japanese pickles) to balance the heavier katsu curry. Also tried the original bubble tea and ice Thai tea, both decent but the boba was a little overcooked and soft for my liking.Service was good, little bit slow but they were apologetic and accommodating, would not deter me from coming back!!All in all, enjoyed our experience and would recommend and come back!
I wanted to like the place since they were kind and it seems family owned but the bubble tea was really bad.The thai iced tea was definitely a powder mix that was aggressively sweet and the bubbles were gooey and non-firm. The cucumber lemonade tasted legitimately like minute maid lemonade with cucumbers thrown in. Super sour and artificial tasting. The lychee was actually pretty good though.2 stars because they were kind and I hope they use this to get better, but I think good bubble tea is easy to come by so the fact that it was notably bad is... bad.
Lovely
I went to try out the new restaurant since I loved ichigo (the restaurant there before). I ordered a couple rolls and their salmon avocado bowl and it did not disappoint! It was better than the restaurant before. The fish was fresh and the sauces it came with were so good. Will be a regular!
