Pic is from part way through my meal. Can't blame me, I was hungry and it was delicious. This place doesn't look like much from the outside and the door is weirdly hard to open but it's worth pulling it hard to get in ?

Come to Am Thai eat and enjoy y'all. The food is very great and and Joy is very helpful and honest she ran out the store to hand lost money to a customer. Truly heroic. We need more people like her to make this world better for the future generations

I’ve been going to this place since 2012. I used to live in the neighborhood and it’s the best Thai food I have ever had. Till this day, I still travel from Jersey to get their food. The food is excellent, fresh and always consistent.

I've been coming to this restaurant for one year and a bit. This review is not about the food which is excellent in every way, so nicely designed on the plate, but the ambience and service of AM Thai. I've kept my thoughts quiet for over a year but I finally have to say something about the condescending and racist behavior of the staff. The lack of respect to me and anyone I bring to this restaurant is the reason why I no longer dine in. The staff male & female as SO CONDESCENDING to people of color that it chokes me with anger. The last time I took a lifetime friend visiting from London to this place, a meal I so wanted her to enjoy- we were tested like gum under the shoe & it made our planned evening out so bitter. The staff would not seat us in a partially empty restaurant no matter how many times I went to the front to ask for a reservation. Each time I was told the reservation was made. Then others came off the street, asked if any table was clear and were seated immediately. After this happened 4 times- cold arrivals not reserved- we were finally shoved near the back & allowed to order. The food was brought begrudgingly, cold, and because my friend didn't want to risk contamination if we asked for it to be done WELL we accepted it. We got no service the entire meal, waitress simply would not stop by even if she was going by and I tried to get her attention. At the end of it all I had to tell her politely about not only our experience but several other people of tables that were all visibly unhappy and speaking about their service. A LARGE birthday table of 8 happy black women sat with not even a drink for 30 mins until they all complained that no one was paying attention to them. A mixed race couple came later when it was half empty and asked for a table and were told no, do they have a reservation even though no reserve signs were on tables. Even the couple next to us were pointedly ignored like we were. I love good food but the attitude of staff at Am Thai is so bluntly condescending that I can no longer in good conscience spend a penny of money with them, esp in sit down meals. This is NEW YORK CITY in 2024. If you want to keep that superior attitude take it someplace else. There's too many amazing BEAUTIFUL places that are delightful in menu, range, style, and wonderful staff- to come to a hole in the wall with servers who look like they want to spit when serving you. It's a shame and they can keep that stale sick racist attitude in this day and age. On to the next.

The flavors were simply not good- kind of weak and something in my basil fried rice was weirdly very bitter. I only got delivery and don't know about their on-site food, service, or atmosphere, but if you're getting delivery in the area just get Misc instead. 3 stars because the portions were at least a good size and the tofu had a good texture.

Knock off of Amy Thai. How do you guys have the same exact menu and similar name as another local Thai restaurant.

Lycee lemonade was great! Pad Thai was okay. I think spice levels need to be requested/mentioned when ordering. Small restaurant, so maybe expect a short wait at busier times.

The space is small but I love the food. I have eaten here once before, but I order wings, dumplings, and rice to go. They are pretty quick, and the workers are friendly.

Decent ambience, clean, smaller than pictures suggest. The food is delicious and the service is good. Alcoholic beverages were $15-$20 each. Will be eating here again!

It’s a small restaurant. But the food is amazing. I mean, the “crispy calamari” is literally crispy. And I love the sweet chili sauce.

Really quaint beautiful spot. really nice lighting. Decor was amazing. Drinks were wonderful. My vegetarian pad hammaphan?was decent, flavorful but not spectacular. My friend’s Sole dish was tender and yummy. However good points taken off for the automatic gratuity of 18% for two people. Now mind you, I would’ve just automatically tipped 20%. When I asked, where was the sign announcing this contract (as required) this was met with …it’s around here..somewhere.

Let me just say very small and quaint. We got her around lunch time. Appetizers was delicious had the steam dumplings and vegetables egg rolls. The lychee martini was very tasty. I enjoyed the appetizers better the entrees was good but wasn’t nothing for me to be excited about. But overall I enjoyed everything and the service.

Firstly, when I received my food, it was the smallest portion possible. I brought 3 different items, that did come to $30; the food taste like a T.V. dinner that just cooled down from the microwave. Not only did it tame almost an hour to receive my delivery, but they didn't even add utensils or napkins with the order. so...the food taste fake, the teriyaki is watery and taste like a T.V. dinner.their proportions DONT match the price. The bowls are really small and they don't fill them up for you.and they didn't even have the courtesy to give me utensils and napkins for my OVERPRICED T.V. dinner FOR KIDS. yes it should've been on a kids menu. you get more in a happy meal for less.I ordered off DoorDash.
