This charming restaurant/cafe oozes class with its finely detailed atmosphere and intimate setting. Chef Creger is a wizard in the kitchen, creating unique fusion with seasonally fresh ingredients. The bar tenders are attentive and charming while they mix up some of the best cocktails and cocktails in NYC. Looking forward to returning for next seasonal menu and their brunch experience!

We came for brunch on a Sunday. Food was good but we weren’t impressed. We felt like it was expensive and not really worth the amount of money. We have had better brunch elsewhere.

One of the few places in this area that makes a good matcha latte! I haven’t been for dinner yet but the cafe drinks and nibbles are great.

Terrible experience at Amano! What’s the point of offering Groupon deals if you won’t even accept valid vouchers? Total waste of time for anyone who bought expecting a decent deal. If you can’t honor them, just don’t offer it in the first place! Save everyone the hassle and frustration!

Only stopped in for espresso's to go. But the staff was so receptive that we drank them there. There espresso are very smooth and they even have milks I didn't know existed.

Depending in the time of day Amano takes on one of two business personalities. I understand that during the day, they operate as a café/coffee shop and in the evening they are a bar.
I was there for happy hour after 4 pm.
Walking down Smith street on a Wednesday afternoon , I found Amano to be the most inviting and approachable bar for several blocks in either direction.
The entire building, interior and exterior, was freshly painted and tastefully renovated within the last year with large windows and beautifully laid out bar.
The staff was friendly, accommodating when time allowed, great conversation.
This is an amazing place to sit, dine on a little something while sipping a good drink.
The old fashioned made by George, the bartender was SPOT on.
The black garlic hummus from the reasonably priced happy hour menu was delicious, as was the petit charcuterie.
I can see myself stopping by this place as a regular, and look forward to my next visit.

AMANO definitely a new spot for me when I come home to Brooklyn. The Maple Foam Cold Brew was so good as I am a pumpkin girl that was a great fall taste. Dalal helped me and she was extremely sweet and suggested the cold brew. I can’t wait to come back with friends for brunch.

The restaurant/cafe itself is incredibly cozy and welcoming. The bar has a variety of drinks and the lighting is not too bright. The staff are also very friendly. However, they usually don’t accept parties of more than 6 people without reservations, so if you plan on going to Amano with numerous friends or two families, remember to reserve some tables. From when we were there, it wasn’t very noisy, and the food came out quite quickly. The lattes are incredibly delicious, and I would highly recommend getting some coffee here. The burgers are also decent for a brunch menu, however, be aware that the top bun is soft while the bottom one is more hard and crispy. Overall, my family and its friends had a great experience, and would highly recommend stopping by if you’re passing by or live in Brooklyn.
