As a newcomer to the wonders of Haitian food, I would say I am a fan. The flavors are both foreign and nostalgic. I dont have a great deal of things to compare to the service or food, but impressed was not what I would use for the food, nor service. Greeter made me feel like an imposition on his well-earned leisure time. Compared the other Haitian eatery I have had the pleasure this food pails in comparison. Food packed crazy, no sauce for the griot and was told that it isn't supposed to have gravy on the side,ive been to too many hatian restaurants to know thats a lie. Picliz all over the bottom of the plate like salad!!!N some fried dough stick thing tht was fufu like on inside I didn't eat.Taste was OK(shrug). Had been craving too, Went home to the bronx n was disappointed. Dam, Dry diri.
A nice small no frills place. If you're looking for a quiet meal I'd suggest going here.I called ahead of time to see if they had piklez & was excited to find it they did. When arriving here, I was greeted by the owner, a nice man who I later found out prepared all the food himself. The food was amazing & the proportions were generous. I ordered the Groit with rice & plantains everything was made to order & came out HOT. The owner was extremely accomidating...
