I am sad to be writing this, but also horrified by the chicken cutlets I received on the best selling hero recommended to me on uber eats yesterday. Was so hungry that I scarfed half of the hero down, although I knew something wasn’t right. After pulling apart the second half- I discovered grisly, stale strings of meat that seemed like a very poor excuse for chicken. My cat wasn’t even interested and she never skips a snack. I deemed the rest of the hero inedible and got a refund.

Whoever placed those “chicken cutlets” on that hero should be fired as I’ve been struggling with stomach issues for the past 24 hours.

All sandwich prices are closer to $20 as opposed to what you see on the old menu photos here. That being said, the portions are big, good ingredients, and it's tasty. You can get a 4% cash discount and they have an ATM. Outdoor picnic tables as the dine-in option.

Got the AJ hero. Overall good, bread was fresh and tasty. Not the best ive had in NYC but its solid, would need to try more sandwiches to better gauge

Absolutely amazing sandwich 🥪
Saw a video online (Moved to Montana 10 yrs ago) and have had this place saved for the last year. So glad I stopped by when I came back to visit!

Such an incredible place, amazing menu, just 10 minute walk from the subway over from Manhattan, easily the best sandwich I've ever had. Took over 20 mins, but the manager/owner apologised and truth be told, was worth the wait. If you're in NY, you have to try this place.

I’ve been coming to Anthony and Sons since 2011. While the sandwiches are still amazing, its quality has steadily declined particularly over the last few years. What used to be an authentic neighborhood joint is also now an overpriced machine. Just the other day I went in for a sandwich, was somehow the only person in the shop, but there were 8 people working behind the counter. My sandwich still took about 30 minutes for them to make. How is that even possible?

Decided to see what the hype was about. I got the Big Bang. The sandwich was very dry and not much flavor. Upon inspecting the insides I found a bunch of diced mystery meat which I couldn’t tell what it was. It wasn’t in the list of ingredients on the menu. After seeing this I was disgusted. Not worth the $22.

This family-owned shop is known for its huge Italian heroes and delicious panini. Their “Godfather” sandwich is a local favorite, packed with layers of prosciutto, soppressata, fresh mozzarella, and roasted peppers. Great portions and plenty of flavor!
