We love Anthony’s Place and the owners and the staff SO MUCH.
WE ARE REALLY GOING TO MISS THEM.
GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK TO THEM IN THEIR RETIREMENT!
So so sad Anthony’s is closing!
My family followed it from its old location to the new.
I hope it really is a welcome retirement that is leading to the end of Anthony’s because it deserves to stay open.
Excellent food, friendly staff and the only restaurant that didn’t start gouging people during and after COVID.
The best food and the fairest prices.
I will miss my Shrimp Oreganata and the stuffed filet I would get for my mom which I always knew she’d eat without kicking up a fuss.
There is such a dearth of good restaurants in this area of Brooklyn.
Anthony’s will be sorely missed :(
No wonder this place is going out of business, reservations are not honored and they make you wait.
Went to the restaurant. Closed at 9 but says 10.
After hearing the establishment was closing June 29th 2025 and members of Facebook had so many positive reviews we decided to dine here and support a local restaurant at the end of its run. Everything we ordered was terrible quality, flavorless, and not close to authentic Italian food. It was a really really long time before we saw the food we ordered make it to the table. The one thing I can speak positively on was our waitress; she was lovely!
GOOD RIDDANCE TO ANTHONY’s PLACE
Anthony’s Place is a charming and quiet Italian restaurant that offers a relaxing atmosphere, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and intimate meals. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the staff is always welcoming. It’s clear that this is a place where regulars feel at home.
The food overall is delicious, especially the pasta dishes and house specialties. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and the recipes are made with care. The flavors are rich but well-balanced, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic spaghetti dish, a creamy risotto, or something from the specials menu, there’s always something satisfying to try.
As for the pizza, it’s flavorful and made with quality toppings. However, if there’s one area with room for improvement, it would be the dough. While the crust has a nice flavor, it could benefit from a longer rise or a different preparation method to make it airier and more raised. A lighter, slightly puffier crust would elevate the pizza from good to outstanding.
That said, Anthony’s Place still remains a solid choice for anyone craving comforting Italian food in a calm setting. It’s the kind of restaurant you’ll want to return to regularly. With just a few tweaks, especially to the pizza dough, it has the potential to stand out even more in the local dining scene.
Highly recommended overall.
I’ve tried a few Italian places in the neighborhood but this one is #1 for me! We ordered the chicken Marsala and eggplant rollatini. The food is incredible and full of flavor. And the service is very nice and attentive. Will be coming back for sure.
Food was good. Reasonable size portions.
My husband and I came in from New Jersey and basically stumbled upon this place. The best thing that ever happened! At first, I was discouraged because I thought I would not find parking, but we did. The service was actually phenomenal and the food was very flavorful and delicious! 💯 Reccomend! You will definitely enjoybit!!! Thank you.
We’ve been going to Anthony’s Place for many, many years. The food is homemade and delicious. Not to mention that Anthony and his wife Phyllis are two of the best people we have the pleasure to personally know. For well over a decade we’ve never had a bad experience at this Great place.

I usually don’t try to be harsh when it comes to family restaurants but this experience was definitely unpleasant.
When we arrived, we had to stand in a crowded entry way for 10 minutes despite numerous tables being open and us having a reservation.
The service was very poor in general (the waiters looks utterly miserable and every time my husband tried to order something, they just ran away and wouldn’t come up to us unless we called them directly)
We waited over an hour for our food and half of it came out either scorching hot or cold. I’m 90% sure it was microwaved.
Had such high expectations, because it looked very promising, but was extremely disappointed.
Please don’t eat their cheese/pasta. Both of our stomachs hurt a lot after so it was most likely not fresh.

The people sitting in the next table were so loud and disrespectful to another guest. We did not enjoy the food and atmosphere there.

The restaurant is located in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. They prepare Italian cuisine. The restaurant is large with seating for dining in. I ordered the filet of sole oreganata with linguine. It was good and the pasta was prepared in a garlic and oil sauce. The lasagna was well-prepared and I added two meatballs to the dish. The margherita pizza had a nice thin crust. The restaurant offers a variety of soup, salads, pizza and heroes. Chicken, veal and seafood entrees are also available. Friendly and quick service.

Delicious Italian food served at a great price. Anthony makes wonderful dishes that tantalize the pallet. Enjoy the way Italian food should be in a wonderful environment.
