Delicious lunch and by far the best and most beautiful cappuccino I've had in a long time made by a very nice barista wearing a banana bucket hat. Will definitely return.

These people block the side walk every day with their signs and chairs and it is incredibly frustrating

Even if you don't take the ceramics classes the coffee and food alone is worth it.

I miss their dinner services but the brunch/lunch is fantastic as well.

Artshack is my local coffee shop with great coffee and an extremely special feel. the folks who work here are all very kind and present, and the space is filled with life - handmade clay mugs if you dine in, art everywhere, special events. really special part of the community!

cute cafe for the ceramic studio vibes. The part I loved the most is that you can drink your coffee and water out of the ceramic mugs that the studio made.

$6.26/ large matcha latte, reg. milkNot a very good matcha latte. To be fair this isn't a café you come to for specialty coffee roasting or specialty beverages. You come here for the community atmosphere and feeling and the delightful on-site handmade pottery that you directly consume your food and beverages out of. How lovely! Of note: They seem to specialize more in cakes and pastries than beverages —cakes & pastries looked very "homey" / old school / traditional ("grandma made them" style) and delicious. Olive oil cake was the one that piqued my interest the most and the menu says they can hand-fill a bombolone with crema di pistacchio -second most enticing item on the menu for me.But yes this is an average matcha latte, you can find far far better matcha options in this city than this one. In fact I originally set out to go grab a Matcha Glo (raving reviews) @ Seed Brklyn down the road but they weren't open yet. The top layer of froth had that bitter pure raw unsweetened matcha taste. And then the milk below was the opposite: didn't have enough taste. Using the matcha latte @ maman as my reference for what a an excellent, well made matcha latte should look and, chiefly, taste like — this one is wide of the mark. The barista was a little terse and irritable too :/ I'm sure she was just having a bad day.Be mindful that this is one of those places that annoyingly doesn't have Splenda available. Or regular sugar or any kind of sugar in a packet for that matter. They have brown sugar (not in packets) & simple syrup on hand for customers. If I were slow-cooking my drink over a stove then brown sugar would be fine. The problem with brown sugar and simple syrup is that they don't diffuse through drinks well so you wind up putting A TON to achieve the same sweetness you would with Splenda. And it never really does so you wind up with an overpriced AND unsatisfactory drink. Splenda is magic in this regard. I don't use Splenda for calorie-saving I use it because, to date, it is the single most effective & fast-acting way to sweeten a warm beverage.I chose regular cows milk just to keep the cost down and I didn't see what it would cost me to switch to oat milk and the barista seemed frustrated to answer questions. This review concerns the matcha latte. The café itself is lovely and has a terrific community feel. The street art adorning the side facade of the building is impressive and beautiful and brightens that whole corner of the block. The ceramics are lovely and it's kind of wonderful to sip your coffee out of a mug that your neighbor perhaps made.
