My girlfriend and I ordered a few basic sides like Pita bread and hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, an eggplant dish, and they were all bland except for the pickled thing that came with the falafels. I though it was just me until I heard my girlfriend say the same thing. The food did not meet our expectations, especially for the high menu prices. Our female server was not very attentive and would often engage in conversation with others while I tried to get her attention to bring over some salt to our table. After getting her attention and making my request, she resumed her conversation and seemed to have forgotten to bring the salt until she glanced over at our table and realized she had forgotten and then finally brought it over. I don't think it was intentional and I don't take it personal. I just want what's best for them and for them to be more aware. I love the space and decor and hope that this review will not be taken offensively, but inspire some changes in the things I address. Thank you for understanding.

Beware of tip theft! Dined here with a friend and we split the bill. I brought the wine so she put down an extra large tip (20% of the total bill) to cover us both. Therefore, I did not tip on my receipt.
I checked my credit card statement a couple days later and noticed I was charged for the amount my friend had tipped. My friend confirmed she was charged for the full tip amount as well. This means our server gave herself a 40% tip! I’ve been trying to contact Ayat all week to resolve the issue, but they are totally unresponsive.
The service itself was also a bit off. They forgot to bring out most of our appetizers until we were finished with our main dish, and we were rushed out of the restaurant after only 1 hour because they needed the table for a reservation.
2 stars instead of 1 because the food is pretty good and pricing is reasonable (when they don’t steal from you..)

Last week, I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend for a drink, an appetizer, and an entree. The food tasted great and we were enjoying ourselves at first. However, just as we were starting to eat our entree, I suddenly felt something on my leg. When I looked down, I saw that it was a live mouse climbing on me. I screamed and the mouse jumped off and ran across the entire dining area. It even brushed against other customers. The server and the cook had to chase it while the whole restaurant watched. Because the kitchen is open to the dining area, this was extremely concerning in terms of cleanliness and food safety.
We immediately asked to leave because we were shaken and no longer felt comfortable eating there. What made the situation worse was how the staff handled it. They told us we needed to pay for everything, including the entree that we had only taken a couple of bites of before the incident. The staff even asked us how many bites we took. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to charge us only for the drink and appetizer.
This was a distressing situation and the handling of it by the staff made it even more disappointing. I hope the restaurant addresses its sanitation and pest control, especially given the open kitchen, and that they show more empathy toward future customers if something like this happens again.

Maybe dining in would be a better experience, but the delivery was very disappointing — I honestly wouldn’t recommend it.
The lentil soup was too watery and thin for my liking; I prefer a thicker, puréed style, and this was more like a bland broth. I even had to season it myself just to make it palatable. The packaging didn’t help either — the soup came in a shallow plastic container (which I’ve never seen used for soup before), so when I opened the lid, half of it spilled right out.
The salad arrived with the dressing already mixed in, which made it soggy and unappetizing by the time it got to me. The chicken wings, on the other hand, had great flavor — but they were cold and lifeless on arrival. I could tell they’d be excellent if eaten fresh at the restaurant.
Overall, it was a lackluster experience that definitely didn’t justify the overpriced delivery fees on Seamless.

Service was amazing ans the staff were so friendly. The atmosphere was quite pleasant as well; with a nice hustle/bustle of the staff but chill vibes overall. The food was reasonably priced and affordable.
The food was unfortunately underwhelming. I went to the original Ayat in Bay Ridge in 2021 and the food quality in this Bushwick location at this time did not compare at all.
Although the chicken kebab was juicy and tender and the hummus and other dips were tasty…the lamb kebab and beef kebabs were very tough/chewy, the lamb shank was quite dry and the some of the other food was oily. The salads had a bit too much vinegar and the cigars were not crispy. The rice was dry and not flavored.
The pita bread was very tasty and had a great soft/crispy juxtaposition; and complemented the dips very well. The dips once again were the stars of the show. The falafel pizza was very good as well. The hibiscus drink was very tasty as well. The lemonade was a tad too sweet.
Overall, half of the food we had was underwhelming which I would never expect from Ayat Bay Ridge. I would stick with the bay ridge location and cross my fingers that their quality did not go down as well.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere truly one of the best restaurants in the city. Staff was so kind and helpful especially Chris, the art was so beautiful and you’ll see only smiles on everyone’s face. The energy was great definitely excited to come back again
