Came in at around 9 pm 3/10 to order some dinner. Waited patiently in line for the people ahead of me to finish ordering. After a few minutes it comes to be my turn. That’s when an employee from a different booth came up. I thought they were going to ask to borrow something or needed napkins etc. I waited patiently until I realized they were just chatting and what seemed like flirting with one another. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I love this establishment’s food and it’s disappointing that this is the service you find acceptable.

Althoug the "baby's bucket" was flavorful, the meat was 80% fat. Very poor quality!

Alright, let me tell you why I had to check out Baby’s vegan bucket. As someone who’s been vegan for over 17 years, I still get those pangs of nostalgia for the crunchy, savory bites of KFC or Popeyes I grew up with. Let’s face it, we all crave a taste of the past, and brands like Baby’s are genius for recreating those iconic food moments—only now, they’ve gone plant-based.
So, here’s the deal: I grabbed their famed “chicken” bucket. I’ll admit, the inclusion of sticky rice had me skeptical—sticky rice and fried “chicken”? It felt like a curveball I wasn’t ready for, especially since I couldn’t swap it for anything else. But hey, I’m all about stepping outside my comfort zone.
The verdict? The batter was crispy perfection. That satisfying crunch, combined with the juicy, umami-packed mushroom “chicken,” hit all the right notes. The French fries were… interesting. The seasoning was a little unconventional—let’s call it “unique.” But when I paired a bite of the fries with the mushroom and the fresh salad on the side, it all came together beautifully. And the sauce? Sweet, savory, and an unexpected star of the show. Pro tip: drizzle it generously over the bucket’s contents, mix it up, and boom—you’ve got a flavor explosion.
Now, let’s talk about the sticky rice. It wasn’t the worst pairing, but it felt a bit like the odd man out. Freshly microwaved sticky rice alongside fried delights just didn’t click for me. Would I skip it next time? Probably.
At the end of the day, this wasn’t just a nostalgic trip to fast food heaven; it was a fresh take on what comfort food can be in the vegan era. Baby’s vegan bucket was good enough to get me back in line for round two—sticky rice or not. Bravo, Baby’s. Keep reinventing the game!

Absolutely disgusting veggie burger. Was so overcooked it was as hard as the box it came in, looked like a leather hockey puck and tasted way too salty to even try to finish. Didn’t get past the first bite. Bbq fries were also a very small portion with barely any seasoning. Do not recommend.

Cute but too much soy seasoning. And it's too fried too. Can't really taste the protein.

I highly recommend the Thai fries! But the mushroom bun was way too salty. I've had it in the past and really liked it, but something must've changed and it's too salty now...

The high quality, American fast food style, Thai food fusions are inspired and phenomenal. The three sisters (owners) and staff are superb. The atmosphere is elevated to a five by adding some personalized color and flare (vintage toy bots bring cheer to an already delicious meal) to their central location in Dekalb Market Hall.
Mmmmm to the Fried Chicken Bun (shown in pic) and Fried Fish Bun. I'm excited about their other offerings for when I go next time.

About this chicken!!!! My daughter came home and was like ma, I have to take you to get this chicken at Albee Square Mall. Fast forward, we came today and I absolutely had to give 5 Star for everything. The chicken is delicious!!!! Fire/slamming/ Banging. It did not disappoint!!!! My daughter is 16 and working this summer. I appreciate her thoughtfulness in wanting to do something for mommy. Back to this review! The customer service is absolutely amazing! Very warm and inviting!!! I will definitely be back with my hubby. This was such a wonderful first time experience at Baby Buns & Buckets

This is an absolute gem in DeKalb Market. I came here on a whim and was blown away by how tasty it was. The spicy Thai fries are an absolute must. Probably some of the best fries I've had. I also tried the spicy fish bun which was packed with flavor. This place def deserves some love. Oh and they're also halal.
