Was charged 83.00 when it should have been closer to 64. Left a nice tip because the gentleman that greeted us was nice. The sangria was ok, I prefer mine with fruit. It tasted more like a fruit punch with champagne.

Very welcoming restaurant with great variety of good food.
For New York standards, it’s okay, you can go out to eat here.
Met Luis and his wife they are a lovely couple. The hospitality was on point. I enjoyed chatting with Luis. He is very friendly and the restaurant has a nice ambiance.
It has been a while since I Tasted a pork shop at this level. Exquisite taste, juicy, and the right amount of burnt...!!! Great atmosphere and Great service 👏 👍 👌 Wonderful experience overall 😀
Poor service, and I wish I didn’t tip beforehand.
I ordered curry chicken, and they gave me grilled. I politely explained that’s not what I ordered. I didn’t even know they had grilled chicken.
The young woman gave me an attitude, and stood there as if she expected me to take it anyway.
Of course, I wasn’t going to take what I didn’t pay for. She sucked her teeth, tapped her fingers on the table, popped her gum, then looked at her friend who took my order to ask her what I said. Her friend didn’t even look at me—she just said, “Grilled chicken.”
The other employee took it to the back, and told whom assume to be the manager.
The manager came out and asked me what J ordered. Then she looked at the employee who took my order, and asked what I said. Of course, she said grilled chicken.
Listen. Mistakes happen. I’m not mad about the mistake. Or the additional wait. I’m actually not mad at all.
But I don’t appreciate disrespect when I know what came out of my mouth, and I lead with good will. Just apologize and fix the order. No big deal.
The waitresses are young. I hope they get trained better.
This is definitely a late post, but a necessary one. Balboa Restaurant is a staple in the Crown Heights community. The owner owns his building, which allows him to provide good quality and quantity food at a very affordable price.
This was the first time I've gone for brunch, and the food was delicious! Everything was made fresh to order and well seasoned. I am definitely going back again.
honestly the price isn’t really worth it. it looks good visually but the salmon tasted like nothing basically, and the mashed potatoes tasted overwhelmingly like lemon, straight up. the spinach was definitely spinach. one thing i hate is wasting my money. if you’re looking for a savory, well balanced meal, look elsewhere.

I went to Balboa during their
4-7pm happy hour and it was a great experience. The drinks were delicious and definitely packed a punch! The food was amazing. I highly recommend the snapper. If you’re in the mood for savory food and good drinks definitely check it out!
