The vibe inside is cool! The food was fine, we got the calamari, penne alla vodka and the chicken parm – a bit expensive for what it is but if you’re looking for old school Italian this is it.

I came here because I needed some legit veal parm. The meat was very tender and tasty. However the breading was soggy, not from the sauce but from the steam of the plate. It comes with veggies and potatoes rather than pasta which would be great, but the string beans I was served were way overcooked. The meal was good enough, the ambiance was sweet. But I wouldn’t travel for this meal. I would liken the quality of the food to a diner in NJ.

After seeing a review on YouTube, we decided to go to this highly recommended restaurant and as it turns out we had to make reservations. Once inside the ambience was good service was good, but the food was horrible. The quantity did not match price and the food did not taste Italian authentic we will not go back.

Wow. Food was great. Very active restaurant. Everybody was having a great time. And, believe it or not, the parking attendants were very kind! A complete package! Definitely check it out!!

Came from CT. The food portions were very small. The price was very big. The staff was great! Atmosphere was awesome. I will be in Brooklyn, and Manhattan looking for a better spot. I was very disappointed. The flavor was ok but there was no pasta with the dish, if I was a big eater, I would be going somewhere else, nothing to Bragg about.

Step into Bamonte’s and you’re stepping into a time capsule, old-school Italian charm where everyone seems to be part of the same famiglia. Servers in suits, voices raised over clinking glasses, and that cozy chaos you expect from a real-deal Italian joint. Food? Solid tasty and comforting, but not exactly life-changing. Not ideal for a whispery date night, unless you’re into yelling “pass the bread!” over Sinatra. Still, it’s a Brooklyn icon. Mangia!

Finally got around to visiting Bamonte's with my sons. Great looking place with a very cool vibe. Nice service too.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but the food did not wow me.
Mussels did not taste super fresh and the sauce was a little bland.
The lasagna was excellent but the cavatelli bolognese was also somewhat bland.
The real disappointment was the veal parm -- super tough to chew through. I would not expect that kind of veal ordering from a pizza place much less Bamonte's.
Your mileage may vary because the place was packed and everyone was having a good time. I'm glad I went but don't think I'll be going back.

The restaurant is located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. They prepare Italian cuisine. The historic restaurant was established in 1900 and is still family-owned. It was the location of several movies and television shows including the Sopranos and Blue Bloods. Famous people from movies, television, sports and politics have dined here. They have maintained an old fashioned and authentic traditional Italian restaurant. Soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages and an extensive wine list are available. I ordered a special chicken entree with asparagus that was similar to rollatine. The beef bolognese was tasty. The chicken cacchitorre can be made boneless with a very good sauce. The fried calamari was made well with an accompanying sauce. Friendly and helpful staff.
