Look, there are a million bars in New York. But few of them have a soul. You can feel the intention behind everything at Bar Americano from the weight of the glassware to the garnish on the drink to the playlist. They care about the little things that make up the whole experience. It's the kind of place you bring an out of town friend to show them what a real Brooklyn bar feels like. Easily one of the best no question, I kinda became like the michelin guys reviewing these XD.

My boyfriend and I were in a date night rut just going to the same loud crowded places. Bar Americano completely saved us, the second you walk in the mood is just... better. The lighting is warm and romantic the seats are comfortable, not just those tiny stools. We shared the tortilla and a few cocktails and it felt like a special occasion even on a random Tuesday. The service was so graceful they just let us be. It’s a rare find in this city a truly romantic spot!!!

We hosted an engagement party for about 20 people here and the experience was flawless from start to finish. The semi private space was elegant and intimate. More importantly the staff was on top of everything without being intrusive. Our glasses were never empty the food was paced perfectly. For a sophisticated low key event in NYC this is a hidden gem. They made us look great.

This is my neighborhood spot and I almost don't want to tell people about it. It has a great buzz but it's not overrun like everything else in Greenpoint. The staff knows my drink now this is my sanctuary.

Omg my first time here and I'm obsessed. I was so over basic bars and their boring menus but Bar Americano is a whole different level, I ordered an appletini thinking it would be that nasty green stuff from the 90s but it was incredible. So light and crisp and actually tasted like apple. The whole place feels like you stepped into a little bar in Europe not Brooklyn. I've found my new favorite drink in the city.

I was looking for a proper cocktail bar with no gimmicks, no pretension and this place delivered. The bartender asked me what I like and made a negroni so perfect and smooth it honestly shut me up for a minute. The vibe is just right for a date dim lighting beautiful bar and you can have an actual conversation without screaming. It’s a classic New York spot done right.

Came for the drinks, stayed for the food honestly. The steak was insane and the chicken liver mousse was so damn good. It's not an afterthought here the food holds its own against any restos nearby seriously impressive.

You can tell the people working here are actual pros, not just college kids. I asked the bartender some nerdy question about mezcal and he lit up. Gave me this whole passionate explanation that made me appreciate the drink so much more.

Getting a group of 6 together in this city is a nightmare but they made it so easy. Separate checks were no problem, they didn't rush us at all and we could actually hear each other talk. This is the spot for group hangs period.

I live for a seasonal menu and they nail it every time. That watermelon rhubarb drink was summer in a glass of pure magic. You can taste the fresh ingredients, it's not just syrup as expected. I can't wait to see what they come up with for fall.

Their outdoor setup is so much better than the typical street shacks. It feels like a real patio secluded and cozy. We sat there for hours during golden hour with our spritzes. It felt like a mini vacation from the city.

The service is what sets this place apart. You can tell they actually care which is so rare these days, made me feel like a regular on my first visit.

Ok the aperitivo hour is nuts. $12 for oysters and $14 spritz in this economy??? that's an insane deal for New York. I'm here every week now, no joke.

Booking on Resy was seamless. In a city where everything is a hassle this was a relief. We walked in and got our table immediately, their food tastes great as well!!
