No AC when is 95 degrees outside is unacceptable. Also extremely noisy. No matter how good the food and service is , the temperature drags down the rating

We have come here a couple times and have had nothing sort of an excellent experience every time! They have all sorts of great deals from their $15 Pasta Tuesdays to their happy hour every day until 630, but even their regular menu is very well priced and full of flavor in every section! We got their eight dollar martinis which are available all of July and our expertly made and we got this amazing corn and pancetta stuffed pasta. Even if you don’t like pancetta or a very smoky flavor, it’s very mild and you should absolutely get it as the corn is in peak season and really fresh. The chicken Parm we got with vodka sauce with gigantic, and we only finished half of it and it came with a side of incredible homemade pasta. This might be the most underrated Italian restaurant in the city!

An absolute gem in Brooklyn!
We had an incredible meal at Barano — honestly one of my favorite dining experiences in a long time. The meatballs might be the best I’ve ever had (seriously!), and the pizza was perfect: an amazing crust and a sauce that makes you want another slice before you’ve even finished the first.
The Caesar salad was spot-on, fresh and perfectly balanced — but the real star of the show was the pasta tasting. That saffron pasta is hands-down one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. We’re already planning when we can go back!
Chef/owner Al came by to say hello — such a great guy — and the staff was friendly and attentive the entire night.
If you love Italian food, do yourself a favor and get to Barano. I’m still dreaming about it!

Loved the experience I had at baranos. The staff was friendly from the beginning. From the host to the waiters. Our waiter Olivia was very attentive to us in a non over bearing way, she took our order and the food came out at a good rhythm giving us space to enjoy the appetizers and entree and at the same time enjoy our food while still hot. It was our first time here but it will not our last. Already looking forward to going back soon. P.s Strongly recommend the Brussels sprouts and drinks were on point.

An amazing time here, food was excellent, we had a pizza with pesto, vodka and marinara, really good, sourdough makes the difference and cooked perfectly, the meatballs were a great appetizer as well, sauce was perfect and honestly the meatballs were seasoned nicely and not dry. Shared the arugula salad and asked to have in a ceaser style dressing that was really good, good portion to share with 2 people and then there was the sourdough garlic bread with burratta on top...wow..amazingly delicious. Cooked perfectly the garlic, pesto and taste of the bread was super on point, I really can't wait to go back but if your in the neighborhood and want to eat good Barano is a perfect spot. I can't end it without saying the service was great as well. Everyone is attentive and helpful, it made the meal that much more pleasurable.

Our favorite local Italian spot! The service is absolutely wonderful and the food and drinks always hit the spot. I’ve never had anything like the saffron gigli, my go-to every time. We love Barano!

I have mixed feelings about this place. While they specialize in wine and offer only six cocktails on the menu, the food was a bit of a rollercoaster. Here's what I tried:
- Warm Mozzarella: Excellent! Fresh, creamy, and perfectly paired with cherry tomatoes and pizza bianca.
- Grilled Prawns: Just okay. The prawns were decent, but the accompanying cannellini beans didn't complement the dish well. I'd probably skip it.
- Margherita Pizza: Unfortunately, a big letdown. The crust tasted like cardboard, and overall, it was highly disappointing.
- Saffron Gigli: An absolute standout! Easily one of the best pastas I've ever had. The flavors were well-balanced, with a light spicy kick and a hint of sweetness. Truly delicious and worth coming back for.
If I return, it'll definitely be for the pasta. The other dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Took my granddaughter for a Saturday teatime meal. She loved the tomato pasta. I had the burger which was good although the fries were a bit too salty for my European taste. Definitely a place to recommend

This food is definitely not Italian. SMH. I ordered zeppolis and they were brown and with regular sugar. The margherita pizza had big burnt bread bubbles all over the pizza. The Maccheroni allá vodka did not have the allá vodka sauce. Everything was so wrong. Except for the Nonni pizza. Very disappointed. Never ordering here again.

I want to give this restaurant a perfect 100! That day, we walked in on a whim to give it a try, and this small restaurant exceeded our expectations. Although the food took a bit long to arrive, it was absolutely delicious, and the pasta had a unique flavor that left a deep impression on me. It was definitely one of the little joys of my trip to Brooklyn!

The drinks took a very long time. We asked for sharing plates and a menu to order wine never came. We had to ask one of the busboys for it. Pasta was hard and branzino was full of bones. Overall it’s an okay place to go to but there are definitely better Italian places New York.
