I ordered a meatloaf dinner from Bed Stuy Fish Fry on Nostrand ave, through Uber Eats and it was a complete disaster.

The meatloaf arrived undercooked, still pink/raw in the middle, extremely soft and mushy, almost baby-food texture, and full of filler. I initially thought it was breadcrumbs, but when I went in person the following day to speak directly with the owner, they admitted they use crackers. Regardless of filler, serving raw meat is a food safety issue. The wait time for the order was extremely very long, the Uber driver had to wait over an hour for my order.

I contacted Uber Eats and was issued a partial refund. The following day, I went to the restaurant and asked the owner for a full refund due to the mishap. Instead, I was offered a future store credit.

What made this experience worse was the owner’s response. There was no apology, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of the problem. Instead, the owner repeatedly deflected responsibility and claimed this was “normal,” even suggesting the meatloaf came out of the oven “too hot,” which makes absolutely no sense considering it was well undercooked.

What’s especially disappointing is that I order this same dish regularly. It’s never been anything to write home about, but it’s usually consistently edible. This time it was obvious something was off, because everything was subpar, not just the soggy, undercooked meatloaf. The mac & cheese was also terrible.

Between the raw food, long wait, partial refund from Uber Eats, store credit offered instead of a proper resolution, and dismissive customer service from the owner, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I’m leaving this review to forewarn others, especially when it comes to food quality and safety.

The fries and whiting I bought had no flavor. Come on, please do better. The food isn’t cheap at all but there was no flavor.

The food was good for the cost. We had fried fish, collar greens and mac and cheese. I love the buy one get one of equal value, however my wife and I don't always like the same sides. Otherwise we will go there again.

Really disappointed and disgusted when I took a bite into my macaroni and cheese and found a long hair. What appeared to be a delicious looking whiting platter was tossed out along with my family‘s entire meal. None of us wanted to touch our food after that. I heard a lot about this place, but it ruined my appetite to ever order from here again be mindful people who prepare the food may not wear hairnets. Also makes me question the cleanliness of their prep area.

The problem with the food is the cooks are not trained the same way so each store cooks do not season and prepare their meals the same way the owner has not gotten this right for years now each individual store service and food preparation will vary especially during weekends so you will always gamble at bed-stuy fish fry any business can have a colorful menu but is the food as good as the menu be mindful of those pictures the store located at 801 Halsey street has never been upgraded it's in need of a interior renovation project i don't really see how they pass nyc food business inspections based on it's present appearance!!

I ordered food through Uber Eats. I had to wait over an hour for my order just to receive disgraceful portion sizes. The texture of the steak is more like beef jerky and the Mac and cheese had over boiled noodles. You guy need to do better. For as long as my order took the food should’ve been way better than this.
