Beer Karma is a highly regarded craft beer bar and bottle shop located in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood. Established in March 2017, it is housed in a building with a rich history, formerly a pharmacy, gift shop, and architecture firm, owned by the Lamonaca family for generations. The bar was founded by Dan Lamonaca, who left a finance career to pursue his passion for craft beer and to share his knowledge with others.
The bar offers an excellent selection of beers, featuring local NYC breweries and international options. The draft list is diverse, including hype IPAs, dark milds, obscure lagers, and cream ales, with regular rotations to keep the menu fresh. The to-go fridge is well-stocked with cans and bottles, including unique finds like Back Home Beer from Brooklyn. Customers can enjoy their drinks at the bar or take them home, with non-alcoholic options also available.
Beer Karma has a cozy, inviting atmosphere with friendly staff who know their beer inside out and often remember customers’ names. The bar hosts weekly runs with beer specials and free pizza, attracting a mix of marathoners and casual joggers. Visitors can bring their own food or enjoy nearby food trucks. Overall, Beer Karma is praised as one of the best spots for craft beer in NYC, offering a welcoming vibe, a top-notch selection, and great prices that make it a must-visit for beer enthusiasts.
