Bersi is SO GOOD, and a rare affordable gem in NYC. 3 of us shared the Weye combo (can’t remember all 7 dishes we ordered). We were so full we even had to take home leftovers, which is amazing for $15 each. Everything was delicious. We also had baklava afterwards which was great. And the Ethiopian coffee was on point. All around great food, great service and a lovely setting for half the price you might pay elsewhere.
I’ve opened my third eye drinking their coffee for the first time. My first time eating Ethiopian food, and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try it. You can wait 25 minutes to get water — this is not a one-off where they were short on staff one evening, it happens again and again. And while you wait five phone orders will go in front of you. They’re clearly doing great business — time to hire more front of house staff...
