Was visiting the area from Canada for work. Stopped in for breakfast with my colleague and was not disappointed. Quick service and great diner food and John is a hoot. No notes.

Lovely place with great food. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly.

Stumbled upon this little hole in the wall by accident but I'm very happy I did because the food here is on point. I ordered breakfast and the food was delicious!
We had a great server and the customer service was A+. Definitely hit them up if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Get a good ribbing and stick to your ribs food! Owner is a good dude that will hassle you in a fun NY authentic way. Food was fast, good priced and cheap!

I never leave Google reviews, but I have never felt more betrayed in my life. I ordered a latte with two shots of espresso. He charged me nine dollars and it wasn’t even a latte. I know what a latte tastes like and it was absolutely just iced coffee with milk. And the coffee is bad. It was nine dollars by the way. Also, he was getting his dirty hands all over my cup, and where the straw is supposed to go. No gloves or nothing. Dirt under the fingernails.

Highly recommended! We ate here while visiting from Miami. The food was delicious and the environment was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Didn't get the pleasure of meeting Big John this time around but Alex is the man! Thanks Alex!

Definitely a spot we plan to return to any time we visit the city in the future.

This place was amazing! It was right around the corner from the hotel my husband and I stayed at - we were visiting from Miami - so we popped in for a late breakfast. Alex was the man. He chatted us up, cracked jokes & gave great service. The food was incredible. We only had breakfast items but the menu was HUGE plus a whole Greek menu and you can mix/match between them. Anything you can think of eating, they have it. We had such a great time we had to stop by and say goodbye to Alex. We also recommended it to some guests at our hotel who were looking for good food close by. Highly highly recommend this spot. Massive variety of food made with love, service like you're being taken care of by an old friend & small enough to have a great experience with the staff.

The food is very good, especially the pancakes and burgers! Alex is a riot from the time you walk in until you leave. He makes the experience unforgettable, to be honest. My 16 year old (son who doesn’t like much of anything) asked “are we going back to Big John’s tomorrow?” 😂 This is a family feel type of business that you won’t mind visiting a few times a week (if you live in the neighborhood) or every time you visit Brooklyn. We live in Florida and will make it a point to visit Big John and Alex whenever we’re in town. Two thumbs way up!

Big John’s was a gem. Frank was the best..witty, kind, efficient and excellent at giving advice on local transportation and safety. . We went back next day. The food was delicious. I will go there when next I visit Brooklyn.
