They opened an hour late, and the service was extremely slow. The chicken was fried too hard and lacked seasoning, making Popeye's across the street look like a 5 star restaurant. The jumbo fried shrimp was covered in a sauce that killed the dish. When we requested to have the sauce removed, the owner replied that's how it comes and refused to accommodate the request, even though the sauce was not listed on the menu. The one star is for the shrimp and grits which was decent.

While the restaurant has closed they are operating as a food truck. Please check their Instagram to see their daily location. Lately they have been in bed stuy. This review is for my visit over the summer. We went on a Sunday and received the following: seafood mac n cheese; hot honey oxtail sliders; blueberry cornbread and the Cater 2 U which has salmon, shrimp and crab cakes. No complaints on the food, the portion size or the customer service. Everyone is always nice. I've only met the male owner during my visits and he is the best! Sad to see the restaurant go but happy to see that they are still making food. Definitely check them out when you can.

Food is amazing ?. Svc is always great! The owner Hassan is so welcoming and treats everyone like family. This is my go to place for soul food in Brooklyn. The chef is AMAZING! The food has never been a disappointment. It’s always fresh and tasty. I’ve been coming here for two years now and I’ve never been let down! I always feel full and happy leaving here.

Oh my gawd jaw dropping delicious! Stopped here to eat while waiting for an event to start nearby. The service was fine. They were out of some menu items which is fair for a small local business, esp with a large menu made fresh. Thankfully there was so much still available I wanted to choose from. I ordered the whiting fish with their fresh fruit juice. Everything was literally soooo good. Worth the price! Worth returning! I can't wait to eat here again!Go, enjoy!!!

Almost didn’t go in, so glad I did. The woman at the front was very sweet and so was the rest of the staff. Food was absolutely delicious, I got the irreplaceable- shrimp and grits with honey garlic sauce - highly recommend along with the berry punch, one of the best juices I’ve had.

First thing - Food is amazing! Loved the Shrimp Fries with Cajun Sauce. Cater To Me (salmon, shrimp and crab cake. They were out of Mac and cheese so I subbed in garlic Parmesan pasta) for was really good as well! Hands down; food is AMAZING! I wanted to give them 5 stars, but because of some other challenges, had to give them 3.Now the not so good. Like other reviews, service is SLOOOOW. Was given water and silverware and then waited at least 30 minutes before a customer at another table pointed out that we hadn’t had our order taken and they were taking the order for a table that sat down after us. Lots of staff around, and wasn’t very busy, so confused as to why it took so long before our order was taken. We thought maybe they were a new restaurant, but I’ve seen reviews from at least a year ago. The young man that took our order was friendly, but not terribly knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is clean, decorated fairly well, but was pretty hot. Add that with the incredibly long wait time to order and it becomes frustrating. The saving grace was the food finally arriving. One bite and I almost forgot about the slow service!I hope they figure out the service and speed issues because they have some delicious food on the menu! Oh and they were out of quite a bit… particularly the Mac and cheese which made me a bit sad. ?

Came far to try this place! Me an my guest were so disappointed! First as you enter no one to greet you ! You stand there for a very long time until you say something after I ask hello can I be. Seated it was o ok ! four different parties came in an after not being seated or even recognized they left! People kept getting up from their tables to ask for napkins for service etc! No one comes to check on you! The two young girls there was trying but they was overwhelmed! No management in site! Sad to say never going back!

Great food with awesome presentation! We got appetizers and their awesome collard greens. So glad we got there just after 6pm as the foot traffic and the business started to get busy. The ambiance was lively since the windows were open and watching foot traffic go by!EVERYTHING was wonderful!

Homey soul foul made with love in a super casual setting. Partner got the Unbreakable (fried chicken & waffles) and he was legit falling asleep towards the end of the meal - the food coma hit him immediately! I tried a drumstick off his plate and I was blown away. The fried chicken is fiiiireee.I went with Cater 2 You, which comes with salmon, shrimp, crab cake, and a side of mac & cheese. Super tasty. I was amazed with the texture of the salmon - it was cooked perfectly! The dish overall was a bit heavy on the seasoning for my liking, but still very good. I was glad I added a side of refreshing cole slaw to balance out the heavier flavors. We sat towards the back (by the bookshelf) and I didn't love how dark it was back there - next time I'd stay towards the front of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend/return!

I first happened upon this business at their original location and had the fortune to celebrate Mother's Day at their newest location in Flatbush. It was a little hectic as it seemed the very young waitstaff were still learning to work through their growing pains, but exercising patience for the meal is well worth it. My girls ordered a few dishes that we mostly shared. The menu options made it hard to decide but we settled for the crab cornbread, which is decadent and delicious. The seafood fries, crab cakes and other dishes set the tone for the day... we were all smiles and quite happy. The menu options have the cutest names as well. Aaaannddd, there is an in-house slider menu, which was super tempting lol. Also, BYOB... the liquor store is a few doors away! The Berry Punch and Dusse go together very well!

Nothing less than PHENOMENAL!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Mr. Black Nile for my main dish and every bit of it was worth the drive. We also shared some appetizers that were on point! To top it off, the customer service was exceptional! Hasan and his wife Fanerra were amazing hosts and took great care of us. This was the only place I went out for dinner while visiting NY and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back on my next trip over!

Oh my gosh. I read through the reviews before ordering and they did NOT disappoint. I ordered the lobster tails with rice and asparagus. I added the seafood mac and cheese because of all of the great reviews. The Mac and cheese was delicious every single bite, I literally took my time to saver the taste lol. The lobster tails were great. I had them grilled , they were meaty and literally falling out of the shell which made a huge difference for me. A lot of places don’t take the time to do that. I noticed y’all! Asparagus were steamed perfectly the rice was good too. Im just not big on rice. Very generous portions as well. I am visiting in New York but I have family here so I will def be ordering again. Literally worth the five stars if you’re considering ordering please do. My food was seasoned perfectly not too salty like perfect. True seafood fresh seafood and although I ordered to go, still hot when it arrived. I usually reheat the food, didn’t have to! Bring a restaurant to Maryland ?
