The best sashimi I’ve ever had. The Ryoan was incredible. Not a great fan of the Tuna Tataki but everything else was so good I know we’ll be back soon.

DELICIOUS and super unique spot. great cocktails, great atmosphere. the pork betty is insane & also loved the house made shumai (steamed) the bozu bombs are so much fun, so come with friends and order a bunch. service was fine, but everything else deserves a strong 5 stars. i'd love to sit at the sushi bar next

We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and reports. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. It's not the first time I've eaten New York sushi and the price-performance ratio here was underground. The food itself was okay but nothing special. Even minor adjustments to the food are not possible.But the service was much worse. During the meal she clears away napkins and so on. Water was refilled once for one person and the rest were ignored. The starter was ice cold. Sprite was served instead of Coke. When we asked for the Coke we were asked if we wanted to drink the Sprite instead. I'm happy to tip if the service is good, but people here complained that it wasn't enough.Disgraceful behavior that deserves 0 stars. I will give this restaurant a wide berth.Fortunately, there are many other sushi restaurants in New York with great food and service so I never have to eat there again.

I’m disappointed and disgusted with our experience tonight at Bozu but mostly with the customer service we received. Not only was our food cold and our drink orders were incorrect but then our waitress had the audacity to complain about the tip she received. Tipping is based on service and it was terrible! She should be grateful she even got a tip in the first place- how dare you!! Don’t complain when you can’t even do your job correctly. I will never ever dine at this restaurant again and won’t ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would- despicable!

Love the ambiance inside, beautiful music and kind service. We stopped in to sit at the bar for sake. I love how the bar is lowered down a bit. Sake was nice& smooth-brought about good conversation. I’d love to come back and try food menu items.

My girlfriend's favorite sushi spot did not disappoint. We really wanted to treat ourselves so we ordered a good amount of food. The pork belly with wasabi cream was so savory and delicate. Thoughtful presentation and the cilantro added some nice peppery flavor to every bite.We then had the ika yaki - sauteed squid with ginger soy sauge and spicy mayo. She was beside herself with this dish and I have to agree. Really enjoyed the spicy mayo in combination with the ginger soy sauce. It was a touch above mildly spicy but went so well with the chewy squid.The vegetable gyoza was unlike any I had before. So melt in your mouth. Not chewy or doughy whatsoever. Again, the presentation was awesome. The lighting wasn't ideal, so my picture doesn't do it justice, but I loved the taste.I'm a big fan of cured mackerel, so I had to try the seared shime saba. I'm not sure the sear elevated the mackerel in any way, but I appreciated the idea. Still really enjoyed this.The sushi bombs, both bluefin oo toro and spicy una, were delicious.Not pictured was the miso soup with enoki mushrooms and tofu. Straight forward but enjoyable all the same.After everything, we only spent around $100. It was the perfect amount of food, though, and I can't wait to go back and try other dishes from Bozu.

Went to Bozu with two girlfriends tonight-- one who had been before and was her favorite sushi restaurant. Upon arriving, the curly-haired host was nonchalant about sitting us. We sat at the bar and shared the Party Bomb (+Ikura), the Salmon Toro Bomb and the edamame for appetizer.The edamame was shriveled and cold. We told her and said she'd heat it up. Is it not fresh? Was it old? The bombs arrived, which we loved. And the edamame returned, still shrivels and dry, but now warm. 0/10 on that.Finally, my gf ordered a bomb to go. The server failed to put it in our check, and then the host stood over us arguing with my friend as we were about to go; we each had already paid. The server apologized for not adding to to the check and the host stood so close to me with the iPad in my face. I asked her politely to move away but her attitude was irritating. Let's just say this isn't my gf's sushi spot anymore lol. She was really embarrassed with the quality of service we received tonight. But the bombs were delicious!
