All I wanted was to grab a bite and listen to a little live music. First part was accomplished, but 7pm came and went and the musicians were just sitting around, no one went up on the stage at the hour it’s supposed to start.

I paid $38 for a chicken sandwich and fries, with a margarita. The chicken sandwich was undercooked and chewy, and the margarita was 80% ice. I don't mind paying that much if it's genuinely good food/drinks, but everything was disappointing. If you're here for the music, I don't recommend buying food or drinks.

Went to sing with a band. After waiting around 4 hours I was told there were too many artists and the band was going home. Would not recommend to any artists really, at least the open mic. What a shame too the band would’ve loved to play with me.
Didn’t even get to sing with the band smh. Would not recommend for up and coming artists.

This place is essentially predatory against artists. After paying for entry for an artist’s performance and admitted, I was told by the bartender there is a 2 order minimum per show, when this was nowhere to be advertised on the event. Why would I pay $15 to see a 30 min show and then $30+ for two items within that 30 min? It is disgusting to see the venue and the promoter Mike Geffner both trying to take advantage of small artists and their friends & families. I ended up ordering a drink and fries and didn’t even get to finish them.
Not to mention one of the performers was also disrespectful and would stand and talk loudly in the middle of another performance. A truly worst of the music scene in NYC.

Live music bar/venue. They have a solid menu with pretty good food. If you're going just for the restaurant, you probably won't be disappointed, though it's nothing particularly special. BUT, the venue aspect is really good with a good sound system, and fun acts most nights. The staff are also friendly. So, if you're going for a good show it's a 5 star experience, but, if you're going mainly to eat, it's probably a 4

the longer we stayed the worse the experience got. we were there for Mike Geffner’s Inspired Word. Immediately the atmosphere was weird and unwelcoming. It almost felt like walking into a “townie” bar where outsiders aren’t welcome. Mike was rude and continued to be throughout the show. We ordered food which was over priced for being so aggressively OK. The worst was that for a place centered around music there is a clear lack of respect for the artists. Members of the crowd were talking loudly throughout the acts—including Mike himself, the Sound Person, and the bar staff. The mix was bad and the microphone was audibly distorting on several occasions. To top that off when the bill came, there is included gratuity, without the courtesy of letting us know it was there. felt like a very predatory way to get people to spend more.

Cute, newish music venue doing good by the neighborhood, bringing emerging artists through! Polite and attentive bar crew, good sound, good food, friendly patrons and performers!

Atmosphere is fine...the vibe is alright but the food needs work. They need seasoning in their food. Too bland for me

This was my first time at the Brooklyn Music Kitchen. They have a full service bar and a descent menu of appetizers. I ordered the wings & my friend ordered beer 🍺- battered shrimp 🦐 and fries. We both ordered cocktails. I ordered my favorite, which was a Tequila Sunrise, it wasn’t strong at all and I had two, I didn’t taste any alcohol, but that was cool with me since I was the designated driver. I didn’t even feel a buzz, otherwise my son would have driven me home. Anyway we were there for a performance, which was also reasonably priced. The place is small but cute (kind of narrow), however that’s expected in NYC. Overall I had a great time and didn’t spend a lot of money.

I spent a few weeks at this place while my friends were performing. I paid $15 for entry, and the total bill came to around $65.
The atmosphere was really pleasant, although seating was limited, and it was nice to listen to the performers. Overall, it was great to see the performers supporting each other.
I was seated at a table, but you have to go up to the bar to order food. The food itself was very simple and not really worth ordering. The drinks were average — the Cosmopolitan had too much lemon juice, and the Espresso Martini was fine. The pasta was ordinary, costing $15, and we shared a dessert for five people that felt like store-bought pastry combined with ice cream.
Overall, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere, but not for the food.
