12/10/25, 8am. Walk in, not even a friendly greeting. Ordered a vanilla late to stay, got a to go cup. Way way too sweet.
Waited 10minutes for one late. Went to to ask about it and she just said she called it 3 times, very arrogant. This after I left a tip.
Management should implement some kind of system that calls out names or numbers.

Let’s be honest, it’s standard NYC coffee here. Perhaps with a larger than usual selection of over roasted and bitter coffees. And by the way, there’s no way to try them. They don’t do pour overs or any drinks from the selection of coffees. When I asked if I wanted to buy a bag, how I can find out which coffee I’d like to buy, the barista paused for a moment and then said, well you can smell it.
It’s got a quirky nerdy retro vibe, not very novel for Brooklyn.

Coffee nerd searching for good beans and someone recommended this. Was a bit dubious from looking at their website - honestly their prices seemed to low. But they’re convenient from Manhattan, so figured worth a try. Cute place, nice service, shame about the coffee.
Bought their Ethiopian natural - which you’d expect to be (and they advertise as) an very expressive coffee with berry and floral notes. In coffee was at what should have been peak (about 3 weeks since roasting - and it was vacuum sealed - but turned out to have virtually no aromas and totally flat flavor. Might have been Starbucks light roast.
It came with a free cold brew - medium roast and equally flat. Threw out most of it.
Bottom line: solid evidence that you get what you pay for. Cheap is cheap.
Want good beans? Try Coffee Project, Suited (though they lean too much to washed beans for my taste, or Dayglow (major shlep from Manhattan but great coffee) instead. Even the coffees I’ve not liked from these locations have been worth the price tag.

Brooklyn Roasting Company has become my go-to coffee spot. Their brews are rich, smooth, and never bitter. The baristas are friendly and quick, which makes my morning routine so much easier.
We buy our 5-lb. bags of coffee for the apartment here.
The coffee is solid, but I have to say, Nanu is the real reason I’m leaving a review. She goes way above and beyond to make sure our order is right, and is always super helpful and friendly. Once our coffee was a bit late arriving from the roasters, and she gave us her own employee perk can to tide us over!
Seriously, it’s so hard to find folks like this anymore. Make Nanu a managing partner, seriously.
Thanks so much for the great customer service experience. We’ve gotten used to little more than an inchoate mumble and a look of annoyance from the employees at half the spots we visit. It’s so nice to have a good experience here.

*Love* this cafe, the atmosphere is awesome and pastries *delicious.* Vegan tahini cookie slaps. The barista with the red hair is so friendly and welcoming, they already remember my order and I've only been here a couple of times. Come here if you're in Brooklyn Heights!

Hidden gem in Brooklyn Heights where there are surprisingly not a lot of third wave coffee shops.

I was going into with my family to grab a dessert with my nice favorite white, shirt. It was nice and we picked a glass table that looked clean. I went to put down the phone and I leaned against the table and all of the drinks collapsed onto me. My dad grabbed the glass just on time before it hit the ground. They didn’t do anything but stare as they led me to the out of order bathroom. Which only the sink worked. The coffee stains got out of my cotton shirt but my pants were ruined. We asked for a plastic bag to put my shirt in, there wasn’t any, so we used a poo bag instead. A woman behind the counter said that the best clothes shoppes were down the street (spoiler alert they were not ANY down there) but my dad liked the coffee until it lasted. So I am not a fan of this place.
