Amazing food and incredibly friendly staff. Gave me and my girlfriend some free toppings since it was our first time there.

We tired this food at a block party, it had potential but maybe because of the demand the food wasn’t as good as it could be.
The steak was tough, like couldn’t even eat it tough, the chicken was way too dry and there was too much of the seasoning on the top.
The veggie plate we had was the best of the bunch.
I think I’d like to revisit the actual location to compare and update my review once I do.

I’ve been coming here for a few years and food was always great. I would get a large steak bowl (extra $3 for steak) and could never finish it. Went back to get my Brooklyn suya fix and bowls have changed from a deep recyclable paper bowl to the black plastic bowl (not sure if the size is smaller but it feels smaller), AND they must have changed the chef. The rice use to be seasoned and had such a nice flavor, now it’s just bland white rice. The steak use to be soft and juicy and melted in your mouth, now it’s tough, dry and hard to chew. Very disappointing. I might try this place one more time for a chicken bowl but please, please, please get the old rice back and fix the cook on the steak. The service was fine and the atmosphere was clean inside and out.

The food is excellent but unfortunately they only have about a 50% success rate on getting the order right! I’ve had items completely left off several times before, and the portions also vary widely. Last time I ordered out, I got about three pieces of broccoli for my “vegetable” :/

Came in, warned them of my egg allergy, and asked for no mayo. They confirmed that information. But when the order arrived, they had put the mayo-based sauce on the order.

So I went back, and they remade the bowl.

I brought the remade bowl home, opened it, and saw that they had added a whole egg (!)

What a waste of time and money.

About time I left a review for this place. Been coming for almost a year now. Love it!! Food is fantastic!! The vibe is too!! It's a fusion of Nigerian, Caribbean & soul food. Healthy, nutritious & flavorful. I usually go for their salmon or chicken bowls. The Suya spice is the cherry on top (quite literally haha). The people who work here are very nice as well, especially the owner. It's a grab-and-go spot with one bench outside for seating but they have a new location that opened up on Rogers with an indoor dining space. A very happy customer here. Thank you, Brooklyn Suya for being a neighborhood 💎

The only bowl in NYC with the correct amount of seasoning. All the other bowls in this town need seasoning lessons from Brooklyn Suya. I can’t bowl anywhere else now.
