No fault against the food or the cuisine but for me I found everything to be either too sour/acidic or one noted and not much umami flavour or balance of flavours in general.
Amazing! Delicious! Worth the hike to Brooklyn. The food was delicious. We got the feast for 3 so were able to try all their items. Every single one of them was beyond good. The sambusa and the green dip that it came with were divine. The staff are super friendly and nice. All in all 10/10

This has been my all time favorite restaurant anywhere, for about a decade. If this place ever closes down, I’m going to need to kill my self.
Bunna Cafe in Bushwick is a vegan Ethiopian restaurant that has completely changed the way I think about plant-based dining. From the outside, it’s unassuming, but once you walk in, the space is full of color, good music, and a warm, welcoming vibe. The menu is entirely plant-based, but you won’t miss the meat for a second. I ordered the feast platter for two, which came with a variety of stews (wots), lentils, split peas, collard greens, and more – all served on spongy, tangy injera bread. Every dish had its own unique flavor profile, ranging from spicy to earthy to slightly sweet. The textures were spot on, and the portions generous. The best part? Eating with your hands! The staff were so kind and explained everything clearly to newcomers. It felt more like a communal meal than a restaurant experience. Their house-made honey wine (tej) is worth trying as well – sweet and slightly floral. Prices are fair, especially for the amount of food. Whether you’re vegan or not, this is a fantastic place to explore bold, vibrant flavors in a fun, relaxed setting.

The food is good, but the portions are too small. I paid $21 for this. Is literally like sample sizes and the worst part is you’re not going to get full because the portions are very small. I feel like I could’ve went to chipotle or any other vegan place in New York that gives you a nice portion for like $12 or $15.
Stopping in for early dinner I was greeted with smiling faces. From the start, the place had an amazing vibe. We happened to be there during their coffee ceremony and got try the Bunna. I opted to add ginger extract and took sugar (normally never) which was good choice given how strong it is. We also got some popcorn which was a lovely snack to start the meal.
We shared the Lentil Sambusa which was a standout. We’ve all had a Samosa before, but this was packed with so much flavor and was somehow extremely light despite it being fried.
Next, we each got a meal which included generous portions. Each offering was delicious and flavorful. I particular enjoyed the Misir Wot.
Hard to find a place with better service, ambience and food all at an affordable price. Excited to return!
