We got the black cod, beet salad and pear salad. The salads were a complete joke. $16 each and all they consisted of was lettuce, pear, and dressing or lettuce, beets, and dressing. The black cod was very good but it was SO SMALL. And for the price of $20 I would expect it to be much larger. Honestly this place is a rip off and it could be so much better. Also, when they dropped it off at our door they just left it there, didn’t even knock.
I go here at least once a week, and have been coming regularly for years. Haven't had a bad item on the menu.

I don’t go out for dinner that much but go here when we are in the mood for sushi.
Their employees are very bad and their behavior is very bad and they can speak English.

Best lunch prices and menu in the area! One
Of our go-tos. Everything is made fresh and they have an open kitchen so you can see when they’re cooking

Restaurantji Recommends
The food was sub par at best. The salmon a strange, radioactive color. Service took really long, despite an empty restaurant. Took about 15 minutes to finally order.

Bushniwa’s sushi is outstanding, easily my favorites in the city. But the pickup experience? Painful. You wait outside, whether it’s freezing or scorching, under a giant sign warning you not to come in. Staff glance at you repeatedly before finally sliding open the plexi and barking, “ORDER NUMBER.”
I’ve had warmer greetings at the post office. Hard to swallow when you’re spending $60 on a solo meal. The fish keeps me coming back, but the service makes me wish it didn’t.

the server (su) and manager (lillian) were both fantastic in every capacity of their job. the wonderful service I experienced in this nostalgic yet classy establishment made returning a necessity! the consistent and total care and attention from the staff was otherworldly, neighboring restaurants pale in comparison. and the food. the food is so rich and so well made. writing this now hours after makes my mouth water. i love bushniwa, i love it love it love it .

Don’t come hungry especially for takeaway. The presentation even for delivery and take out is good but easily the worst pork belly I have ever had out of every country and every spot in the city I eat it often. Zero flavor, it’s pretty hard to make the specific dish this bad. The portions are so small and just pretty that it’s not meant to eat out just dine in when you’re not actually hungry. The whole meal is one small appetizer and I truly don’t eat much. I’ve tried a few rolls and they are good but as I said the portion sizes😭
