They were great! Our waiter hooked up with some celery root puree after we requested a swap. Schnitzel was banging and the drinks really hit the spot =]

Maybe they were having an off day, but they were out of lots of things and the food was pretty blegh. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was nice with the wood-paneled walls.

I don’t often write reviews but this restaurant was excellent - the dishes, service and ambiance. I can’t wait to go back.
Very kind service members and great atmosphere

Can’t speak to the food but probably the best wine list in any spot you’ll go to in Brooklyn heights… the fact that they do small pours so you can try different wines by the glass is a game-changer. For those who love northern Italian wines especially - this place is a must! I got to try two Jura wines by the glass for a great price, absolutely incredible. So lucky to have this place in the neighborhood!

Cafe Brume is so worth the trip across the bridge! What a little treasure nestled in Brooklyn Heights. A dear friend hosted his birthday dinner here (Cafe Brume can accommodate dinner parties) and it did not disappoint, an exceptional experience. The space is beautifully decorated, warm, and inviting. Now, let’s get to the food 😍. Served family style in courses was just chef’s kiss. You could taste the love and passion in every bite, every single bite. The freshness of the produce, the tenderness of the veal (Schnitzel), the melt in your mouth trout was just an experience in itself. The owners are such lovely people (were onsite) and have really created a real family environment. Cafe Brume is the perfect place for date night (with your boo or by yourself 😉), dinner parties, or just cocktail time. Just an all around vibe! Treat yourself to Cafe Brume without delay. I've been to Cafe Brume multiple times and can honestly say I love it! Their menu updates with the seasons, so you always have some new things to try or still have the option of getting their staple items (you HAVE to try the wiener schnitzel!)
Most recently we order the swiss onion soup, agnolotti, raclette burger, and pork sausage dish...all were FANTASTIC. Also the team there is really great. We're greeted by the owners who are always teaching us new things about their dishes or wine options. A simple dinner quickly turns to hanging out there for a few hours and trying some various schnapps.
It's become our go-to in the neighborhood. Will certainly be back! (and more than once...)

Could have had a better experience.
My girlfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day prix fix yesterday, and we were a bit disappointed with the service. Our waitress was lovely however, it seems that the restaurant was overbooked and the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. We hadn’t seen our first course until around an hour after sitting down and it was at least another half hour until we saw the next course. The couples sitting around us experienced similar issues some of which were waiting for a while as well.

I struggle to write a review because I think this place has potential. The food is actually quite good (although entrees are a bit on the more expensive side). The service however is terrible. We waited so long to put a drink order in during a relatively empty dinner service. We were never told the specials and were surprised to hear the table next to us be offered the specials (ironically after they had already placed their food order). Waitress never came by once to refill drinks, ask how the food was, or even bring by a dessert menu. The staff seems extremely aloof, dismissive, and disorganized in a place that would otherwise have lots of potential
Favorite brunch spot in all of nyc and it’s not close. I think at least once a week about their omelette and crispy roasted fingerling potatoes. Music and atmosphere always on point, love bringing friends here

Really great place for Austrian food. Love the food, nice decor, lovely staff, can’t really ask for anything else. This is such a great place for the neighbourhood and I hope to be there more.
Have been a few times and always get the Schnitzel, my opinion it is the best schnitzel in the city and I have tried a bunch of the German places around. Probably better than most places I’ve been in Munich too.
The spätzle and cheese plate are fantastic. Raclette is good too.

One of the best restaurants in Brooklyn Heights. The food is spectacular as is the cozy alpine ambiance.

We live in the neighborhood and remember when this spot was Teresa’s… Cafe Brume brings back the light that was missing after Teresa’s closed.
I need to go back for dinner, but brunch was amazing. The Wienerschnitzel, torn Austria pancakes, and alpine eggs Benedict variation was to die for. The tea selection was especially special, specifically the smoky earl grey.
Needless to say, we will be back and we hope that Cafe Brume is here to stay!

This is a swiss restaurant with poor hospitality practices, in a part of Brooklyn with amazing Thai and Pizzerias. The owner mistreated my elderly Mother with a bladder disability because she buys expensive soaps for the bathooms and cant afford to let every “tourist” use the bathroom. In a neighborhood where tourists are at least half the foot traffic, she seems not to want them in her swiss cheese restaurant.
Bottom line: Customers ultimately are paying for hospitality, which is not here.
