Chicken satay was solid, wasn't too fond of the carrot salad, was a little too acidic.

Took our drinks order and never came back. We were sat at the back table outside and waited over 30 minutes for a cappuccino and watermelon juice and finally left after servers came out twice and completely ignored us while they checked on all the tables closer to the door

Terrible service. Waitress took the order of others first that sat down after us, and messed up our order. She was unapologetic and rude.
Breakfast with a neighborhood regular was a quiet, tasty start to the day. That same night, I couldn't find anything within six blocks of Dumbo that appealed to me more than a second visit to Cafe Gitane -- so I walked back and sat at the tiny bar and got to chat with a couple of the friendly staff. These are the places and people who make visitors think about moving to Brooklyn!

Hidden gem in Brooklyn. We had amazing healthy and tasty food. The Grilled eggplant was all I needed after a lot of NYC junk food. I 100% recommend.

Just recently opened my studio down the street, and was so very excited to try Cafe Gitane. It is so cute and delightful. It really felt like I had been transported out of New York. I can't wait to bring others here for coffee, breakfast, lunch out on the sidewalk (which they have a very lovely set-up). Food is excellent, and their cappuccino is so so good. I've stopped by a couple times before work, to take one to go!

Cutest little spot in vinegar hill! Loved the menu as it had so many great brunch and food options. Iced latte was delish. Every meal was great and everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again soon!
