We were looking for a Russian restaurant to take out-of-town American guests on a weeknight. Unfortunately, I don't know any Russian restaurants that also offer live music on weeknights, and that's what we were looking for - a complete Russian restaurant/nightclub experience for your guests. When I called to book a table, I explained our dilemma but was told that they only offer background music on weeknights. Nonetheless, reading other reviews of this place, I decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we realized that our party of 6 were the only patrons of the restaurant that evening. But we were ok with that. The place is cute with images of Parisian scenes on the walls and a very relaxed atmosphere. They had their own full bar, but allowed us to bring our own alcoholic beverages. We had pre-ordered their banquet style menu for $125 per person, as it represented a wide variety of foods. The table was already prepared for us, and as soon as we walked in (20 minutes before our reserved time), they began covering it with appetizers. Our server was quick, polite and attentive. The chef-owner, Alex came out to introduce himself and his wife, Klara, and to ensure that we were happy with our food. The food...I must say that even my mother-in-law, who is a huge critic, was delighted with the quality and volume of food that was offered here. The gamut ran from the best Greek Salad ever to tuna tartar over avocado, to duck salad, to a most delicious lobster salad with fresh fruit, to crepes with mushroom, to amazing pasta with seafood, to rack of lamb, and what seemed like a dozen other dishes in between. And each and every one of them was excellent. Our compliments to the chef!!! Then, if that wasn't enough, in walks a young lady named Oksana, and says that she will be singing and DJing for us, so that we can dance. She was great! We got to dance a bit and even got to sing a bit. At the end of that great evening, we were offered a variety of coffee drinks, freshly sliced fruit and delicious apple filled pastries. We wound up having a wonderful, and an all-around fulfilling evening in the middle of the week. I am looking forward to returning to this restaurant on any night of the week.
