Food and service was good. Everything was tasty and fresh. This restaurant is not super fancy so don't expect anything outside of a decent meal and boardwalk access. I have been there several times for family dinners and never a problem.

Brighton Beach is famous for authentic russian food - the weather was good, so I have chosen restaurant on the boardwalk VOLNA . First - terrible service! Second - i ordered famous russian dish -herring with boiled potatoes - herring was disgusting and they brought me french fries !!! Worse taste that the fast food!! Soup solyanka also was BAD! And most awful experience was the check - 12 doll for herring plus 12 dollars for french fries - thats ridiculous ... and they also add tax and 18 percent tips to the bill automatically ! And waiter asked me to pay the bill IN CASH! Beware of this place!

Exactly what I wanted! Sea views and smoked fish. Icy beer was great too! Just perfect, pleasant, cheery, and reasonably priced (- what I had - starter, yet well-sized.)

Overpriced and uneven is how I would describe this russuan thened boardwalk restaurant. The service was pretty good and quick but the flavors and prep were inconsistent. The fried potatoes and mushrooms were a masterpiece, shnitzel was good enough but cherry vareniki without souce and bland chicken tabaka were unforgivable. For a place that is supposed to be all about Russian cuisine this place delivers like a tourist.

Went here today for lunch. Got a 1 salad, bread, 1 shrimp cocktail, and 2 drinks each (2 people). Waited FOREVER for beverages and our check. We could not find the waitress anywhere despite asking multiple times. it wasn't too busy either. Terrible terrible service but good food. Also the prices on the menu were different than what they charged. An 18% tip automatically added to our bill but did not clearly show this as there was an empty space for us to add a tip. The drinks we were charged for were different than what we ordered. Naturally higher priced than what we ordered. Total scam artist waitress or restaurant. Watch your bill! Needless to say did not leave a tip for our $129.00 light lunch for 2 people. Do not recommend unless you like helping dishonest people. So disappointing.
