I never got a chance to even sit down in the establishment. I walked in with my mom, her service dog and was immediately told that I couldn’t stay because we had a service dog with us and the health department would shut them down. I explained to her that I was against the law. To refuse us, but the simple minded woman did not want to hear me so we left so here is some information for the uninformed women that refused to serve us yesterday.
Under the ADA, restaurants must allow service dogs in all areas where customers are normally allowed, and cannot charge extra fees or treat the person with a disability less favorably. While service dogs must be allowed, a restaurant can only ask two questions: if the dog is required due to a disability and what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. A service dog can be excluded only if it is out of control or not housebroken, and the handler doesn't take action to control it.
What restaurants must do
Allow access: Service animals must be permitted in all areas of the restaurant where the public is normally allowed.
Do not charge extra fees: A business cannot charge a surcharge for a service animal or for the person with a disability.
Do not segregate: People with service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons.
Treat the pair like any other customer: The person and their service dog should be treated the same as any other customer without a service animal.
What restaurants can ask
Two questions: A restaurant can ask:
Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
No proof needed: Restaurants cannot ask for documentation, certification, or proof that the dog is a service animal.
No questions if the service is obvious: If the need for the dog is obvious (e.g., it is guiding a blind person), you cannot ask these questions.
When a service animal can be excluded
If it's a direct threat: The dog can be excluded if it is not under the control of its handler and poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
If it's not housebroken: The dog can be excluded if it is not housebroken.
What doesn't count: Allergies or fear of dogs are not valid reasons to deny access.
And I will take this further trust me

Food was great, cant knock the cook(s). service on the other hand was very disappointing. The older lady is rude and doesn’t seem to enjoy her job. She was very short and unpleasant to speak to, seemed easily bothered. Not a pleasant atmosphere, she made us feel unwelcome as new customers.

Ordered a hot chocolate and it was prepared from scratch and tasted great! Staff was super polite and the place was cozy like a living room.

I love this place. The atmosphere does give café and chill time. I have spent hours. My favorite is the ice chai latte. The paninis are great and so is the yogurt parfait (It's secretly my favorite).

Cute café, but the drinks really miss the mark.
Cozy, clean, and one of those cute neighborhood spots — but the drinks just aren’t it. Whether tea or coffee, nothing ever tastes quite right. I’ve tried coming back over the years hoping it improved, but no luck.
Also odd that everything’s served in to-go cups and paper plates, and staff regularly toss their trash into the city bins outside (technically illegal dumping under § 16-119). It’s been around forever, so here’s hoping they fix the drinks because the place itself has potential.

It's Cafe Cafe, it's not a coffee shop it's a Bayridge institution. The coffee is great, think strong cappuccinos, creamy lattes, not too sweet or too icy iced coffees, the service over the years has always been kind, welcoming and attentive. The place has a friendly neighborhood vibe that keeps making you come back.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I can’t. I’ve been there twice and both times I was disappointed. The coffee is bad, and so are the croissants. The coffee has no real coffee flavor, and the croissant doesn’t taste like a croissant. Sorry, but this place is just not good

Cute spot with many choices of coffee and other beverages. Love the fact that they have French press coffee with many different flavors AND they give you the whole French press pot on the table ! For $6.50, you get a large pot, it was very flavorful as well for my chocolate raspberry. The girls had their iced drinks and like them too.

I didn’t care so much for the “wait-to-be-seated” part, I like cafes with more chilled and casual vibe, and the sign was a bit hidden on the wall, so we just walked it as if we went to Starbucks. The server was nice.
Would def come back when it the neighborhood, they have more sittings compared to other cafes in this area.

I wanted to like this place, been there twice and left disappointed both times. You ll be asked to seat if you want to stay however your hot beverage will still be served in “to go” plastic cup. They did it both times and I don’t understand why did they serve “to go” if I wanted to stay. Decor was cute and I honestly expected a nice warm mug but that didn’t happen. I still had to sip it through the plastic. Also I was overcharged for my hot chocolate. It the menu it was 4.5 but I was charged over $7 (even with “extra” for almond milk I couldn’t understand why it’s $7) I asked the waitress why the price is different and was told they it must have been a “mistake” in the menu. Lol. Cute cafe but service is terrible.

This place is cute, the staff is friendly but I came in during a busy day and they were clearly overwhelmed and out of sorts. They couldn’t tell me the ingredients in most of the food items which is difficult for me because I have many food allergies. The iced tea I ordered was not great. I’d be willing to go back and give them another try because they’re in the neighborhood.

The Chai Latte and Chocolate Croissant are to die for. Ariel and Dea were very kind to me and my friends, especially with service and food recommendations!
