I'm a barista myself and can say: the coffee here is good! The location is very convenient to me, but I have to say after my first few times coming -I told myself I wouldn't go back.

It feels and looks cluttered and dirty. Old ripped flyers from months ago are still hanging, random paintings hanging on by a thread, furniture on its last leg, halloween decorations up even though its almost february, and random candies or pins displayed on a random shelf to buy (i think.) I just dont feel like I could comfortably sit there with my coffee.

Also, The owner is always kind- but the other barista was always rude. He has slammed milk or other objects down out of frustration (which feels directed at the customer) or looked at me in the line while the person in front is finishing on the screen, and said in an annoyed tone, "what do you want?" in taking my order. Again, as a barista, I couldn't imagine interacting with anyone this way? I have other friends in the neighborhood that avoid this shop because of interactions with him.

I’ve been here a couple times over the years; I come for the vibe - it’s very peaceful. Today whoever is top dog was in and when I asked about gluten free stuff he told me they had gluten free bread and he could do any sandwich on it! What a dream - he is vegetarian due to allergies himself so he’s very understanding and accommodating if you have food allergies. It’s a great spot for computer work or reading - lots of seating and chill lighting.

The platonic ideal of an aggressively unpretentious, super cool café and community hub. Menu isn’t deluxe, or whatever, but they serve good stuff and you consume that stuff in a really rich atmosphere. Lots of programming, too (came in the evening to knock out work on my laptop, got to vibe out to a DJ set at the same time)
