No brainer spot for casual eats. There are only a few places where almost every menu item is consistently great—dozens of times we’ve dined here, delicious every time! Plenty of seating for larger groups and great vibes/music for all kinds of outings. Such a friendly staff and warm setting! 40min drive for us, but worth the trip!

I can't say how many times I have passed this restaurant on 5th and never tried it until now. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively, the music is not to loud and you can actually carry on a conversation without shouting. The staff is very friendly and professional . Now to the food everything tasted divine, it was well seasoned and fresh, the only complaint the esquite lacked a little salt but it still was delicious. I had the smoky passion fruit margarita it was strong and you can actually taste the passion fruit. My friend had the guava margarita and it tasted more like a really tart grapefruit drink. But overall this is a great Mexican place to dine in or take out

The service is awful and the food is just average. I got a hard time when I came in with two staff workers about a larger table - where the manager herself refused to let us sit there after being asked. The drinks were SO SLOW coming out, and the waitress gave one of my workers a really hard time for not having her ID, when she said it was in the car, and I walked several blocks to get it. On top of that, they charge almost $5.00 to use any credit card - which I do understand charging something, sometimes, but they are deflecting the whole cost of using a credit card and aren't giving back good service. I am NEVER going back to this place.
I wish I could live in a vat of their cheese sauce. I always order a Union Salad although I wish they’d allow steak as a protein add on. Food was finger licking good!

We ordered burrito bowls and chipotle wings at Calexico in Park Slope, and everything was delicious! The burrito bowls were flavorful, fresh, and honestly better than Chipotle. The wings had a great smoky kick to them.
Our wings were delayed a bit, but the staff was really thoughtful and offered us complimentary chips and salsa while we waited, which was a nice touch and made the experience even better.
Overall, great food, great service, and a spot we’ll definitely be coming back to!
