*adding to my original review* Calexico did not ask me to edit my review. I really appreciate great customer service and the Calexico team provided just that! We were invited to give them a second chance so my friend and I revisited today. We were met with a sincere apology for our prior experience as well as provided stellar service. It’s not everyday that a business goes out of their way to show care to their customers in the way Calexico has!
Food wise, the churros were amazing and the barbacoa (tacos and burrito) delicious.
*original experience* My pregnant friend and I ordered the burrito lunch special today. We asked to substitute the beer with something else as my friend is pregnant and I’m breastfeeding and had my infant with us. The waitress informed us that we could not substitute the beer that comes with the burrito special for an alternate drink so we accepted it and went without a drink for our meal. When the bill came, we were surprised to find that we were charged with the full price of the burrito alone when we had specified ordering the special. The waitress did not tell us ahead of time that we couldn’t order the special without ordering a beer. We explained our situation and why we couldn’t drink the beer to the manager and she was quite rude saying we saw the price of the burrito on the menu when we ordered as well as the special being there to help their beer sales. We even asked if we could give the beer that came with our meal to someone else in the restaurant and she said no. We were very confused and surprised of this treatment considering the family friendly neighborhood and medically not being able to drink for the safety of our babies.
Wandered into Calexico while walking through Brooklyn- we were pleasantly surprised with the Lunch Box special. (Two tacos, rice & beans, and chips and guacamole) Not only did the food come out fast, but we were stuffed for only $14. Grace was a great server, and answered any questions we had. Definitely recommend on your next lunch in Park Slope!
Every time I come here the staff is welcoming, the food is always on point, and the atmosphere is lovely. Micheal always comes around making sure that everyone is having a good experience—-exceptional costumer service always
This is me and my husband’s go to place. The staff is kind and friendly. The waiters pay attention to your needs. The food is great it does not disappoint ever. The drinks are great and the atmosphere as well!
Pretty good Mexican! I’ve been a million times, and the menu and recipe has changed quite a bit over the years. Their appetizers are great, but I’m not the biggest fan of the tacos. Very nice family friendly atmosphere, good music playing, a nice place with solid prices.
Do yourself a favor and order the crispy brussel sprouts! Nom nom nom
Barbacoa was excellent!
Had a great brunch with my family. They had a good menu, food was tasty. Service was friendly, helpful and they were good with my very young daughter. Would recommend!
Great place for easy Mexican food in neighborhood-get the tacos gringo style (essentially a double decker taco ?) and ask for extra crack sauce. Fairly spacious for

I love Calexico! I come here regularly with friends and family and am never disappointed. I recommend the barbacoa quesadilla (the caramelized onions are excellent) and any of the burrito bowls. Calexico's food AND drinks are good, which I appreciate. Any of their frozen margs are wonderful. The paloma is delicious as well. The service is consistent and kind. The outdoor seating on the sidewalk is a little crowded but that's not their fault, it's just the location. Inside is lovely.

The service and atmosphere is good bit the food is abysmal everything lacked salt and was so sweet, chipotle pork was sweet, not smoky or spicy, beef also sweet(not sure how thats possible) have eaten in many authentic mexican restaurants and this is far from it, its more for white people who are alergic to spice. The cook might have grabbed the sugar instead of the salt when prepping our meal not sure what else could have happened.
