Amazing. Go out of your way to get these. You won't regret it. They have a bunch of different flavors. Something for everyone. Try them all!

Tiny little place where you see the ladies are baking fresh. A must visit if you love donuts.

Their doughnuts are SO good I highly recommend the Boston cream, best Boston cream I’ve ever had. They also have a cute shop and make the doughnuts right in front of you.

A hit or miss depending the day. Some days the DoughCro is delicious, moist, and sweet ! Other days they can be dry, have a chemical taste to them.. or stuck with too much leftover oil from frying. While I love this business I do think for the cost of the product, it should be guaranteed same quality each time. HOWEVER- the DoughCro with whipped cream and strawberry is worth the gamble ! The whipped cream is mildly sweet, as the sugar dusted DoughCro carries plenty of sweetness itself, while the strawberry offers a little bitterness to balance it all out. Also recommend their baguettes ! Reasonably priced and fresh. Employees are always kind and patient (if you have to pick out a variety of donuts haha) Coffee is comparable to any deli nearby.

Walked over today and tried a glazed braid a little after opening. Delicious and I totally regret only getting one donut. I will return for more!

I agree with all the reviews. These are the best donuts we’ve had in NYC. I personally am not a donuts person but these are quite delicious. Pistachio bread is my first choice.

I went to Caroline’s knowing about the great reviews and I am always looking to find great things to eat.I was greeted by a friendly employee and noticed very little selections were available because the shop just opened and was working on putting other flavors out so I was SO disappointed!... Anyway.. I really wanted to try the glaze and I came a long way for it to so asked how long will it be for the glazed and he said 10 minutes. In the meantime an obvious regular came in asking for her “usual” the glazed donut and was raving to the person on the phone that this was the best place for donuts… this made me even more excited!…Finally, the moment arrived, freshly made…the glazed donut. The space in Caroline’s is not a sit down and have your donut but you can stand by the window which is enough for two..three people tops. I chose to eat on the go and it was pure bliss!..Hell, I could have been mugged and asked, “Take everything but the donut”. It was delicious!…The reviews are dead on…this is by far the BEST donut I have had!. It was fresh, warm, soft and just melted in my mouth. I am watering at the mouth as relive the experience…..?I will return to try the creme brûlée, mango, doughcro and Boston’s creme!!!…Thank you Caroline’s….seriously!…

Went there a couple of weeks ago. Loved the donuts, freshly made throughout the day. Lots of variety to choose from, Boston Creme was fantastic, the filling is superb. The house especial DoCro is awesome. Light and flaky yet still true to a donut. These donuts are definitely a grade above your common chain shops. I froze the Docro for two weeks, took it out to thaw today at room temp, after two hours it was just as good as the day I ate the first one! In the words Arnold Z “I’ll be Back”.

Holy crap these are awesome donuts. Not too sweet (as opposed to Dunkin, say), interesting variety of flavors. I got a crème brûlée donut which had a crunchy sugar coating like a real crème brûlée! They're pricier than a chain place but worth it.

This place is a must visit, especially if you have a sweet tooth or want an affordable dessert. I've had their lemon, chocolate, Dulce de leche, dough cro (what they're known for) and orange. The dough cro is nothing to go crazy over. After I tried it I didn't see the need to be obsessed with it. The orange is perfect if you want a flavor fusion but the Dulce de leche is my favorite. If you can go early to mid day when the doughnuts are fresher. The service is quick and the shop is small so you can't sit down. May have to go to a nearby coffee shop to sit or eat and walk with it which isn't a bad thing.

Caroline's Donuts is destined to be legendary on the Upper East Side. A French bakery, their doughnuts are beautiful, creative and incredibly delicious. They are more than just doughnuts and can be served as desserts or just incredible treats that everyone will enjoy. We tried two different ones. The "Dough Cro" with sugar, which was a cross between a sugar doughnut and a croissant. It was incredible. The Crème Brûlée doughnut, which was topped with caramel and filled with homemade pastry cream, was one of the most delicious baked goods I have ever had in my entire life. There are many more doughnut options to choose from, from Nutella-filled doughnuts, to doughnuts that are topped with a choice of lemon, chocolate, raspberry, coffee, coconut, apricot, mango or Dulce de Leche (cocoa nibs). This is a destination that is worth traveling to from all parts of the city, as there is nothing else quite like or as good as Caroline's Donuts anywhere else. Luckily, it is possible to place a pick-up order in advance and pay for it online. Just call the bakery directly. The owner is extremely friendly and the bakery is very clean. There are delivery services, too, such as Seamless Web and Grub Hub, that will bring Caroline's Donuts to your home. I highly recommend this amazing bakery. We were so pleased that bought a dozen assorted doughnuts (see photo) to take home with us. Caroline's Donuts is a gem on the Upper East Side! I highly recommend. Five Stars out of Five Stars Top Rating!!!
