Great vibes + atmosphere, the place is laid out and designed very well. All of the food we had was excellent, margaritas were a must, service outstanding. Started with the queso fundido, then round of tacos - pollo, pescado, and barbacoa. Everyone loved their dishes.

Sat at the bar on a Saturday evening to get drinks & food. Ordered drinks and then received water glasses that were both covered in someone else’s lip gloss.
So we got up and left.
Don’t recommend if you like clean dishes.

We had such a wonderful experience last night at Casa Publica. Our waitress was an angel and the food was exquisite. Probably one of the best mexican restaurant in new work right now. Go get a drink afterwards at the westlight rooftop for a breathtaking view of the city

Our waiter Ricardo was amazing and provided great service and food/drink recommendations. The margaritas (both tequila and mezcal) were delicious (I recommend the mango margarita on the rocks!) and my huevos rancheros and my bfs burrito were both top notch! 10/10 would come again!

My family and I went here for brunch today and were so happy with our experience. The staff was very friendly. The drinks were PERFECT, the food was delicious providing authentic Mexican flavor profiles. The tostadas were something I’d go back for every time alone. The overall atmosphere really made me feel immersed in the experience.
Came here without a reservation on a Friday early evening. The male host did not seem like he wanted to be there. The front of the restaurant had an entire high top table empty. He said he could seat us inside in 40 minutes or so. I asked about the high top long table, and he said he is reserving that for larger parties (we were two). We finally ended up settling at the bar, which omg was a great decision. The bartender made the most amazing margaritas and served them up for us. He was professional and really nice. We spend 4 hours there, lots of food and drinks. During that time, the host sat 3 separate couples at the high top and addionally at another table where he told us he had nothing for us. It's really disappointing. So one star off is for the rude host on a friday, June 7th .

Kid-friendliness: Crayons and paper for little ones and a general appreciation and understanding of family life makes this a comfortable place to eat with kids

In addition to food being too spicy, service is TERRIBLE. We ordered guacamole, 3 types of tacos (fish, barbacoa and pastor) and the aguachile, all WAY TOO SPICY as in not eatable. It’s not written anywhere it’s so spicy and our son left having eaten chips… When we notified the staff, they clearly couldn’t be bothered and didn’t do anything. Worst experience. You can go anywhere else for better tacos and much better service.

what a taco spot ! gone is the traffic of mccarren park and enter the welcoming sanctuary of casa pública ! everything was perfect and our whole party was welcomed warmly ? . excellent vibes staff and delicious delights .
