I never want to go here because the owner is so rude. And I know that’s just who she is (and not that I caught her on a bad day) because multiple people have said it over the years and the couple times I’ve been here, I’ve had the displeasure of being served by her. Sadly this is the closest bagel shop near me, and it’s fine for a bagel shop but the minimum $10 credit card charge also makes me want to never come here.

Don't. The bagels are disappointing. Not worth the money or the trip there. The owner is awful. She always seems weirdly ready to get angry and toxic with people. The place always looks and feels like it's in its last month of business.

I used to love Catskill but this is another business that is noticeably declining in quality. They charge you $1 to use a credit card AND have a $10 limit, which is illegal. You’re a bagel place, one person goes in for a bagel and cream cheese and you can’t use a card to get it and no ATM to get cash. To top is off, if the owner is there, she gives you an attitude. Now, at least the bagels are great but a new surprise has developed, you have a paper thin smear on it (used to be a lot of cream cheese but the owner has probably instructed the staff to take it easy on the CC). I’ve been going to this place for 10 years and I will give the staff credit, they are all very nice, I can tell they are just working for a difficult owner.

If you know, you know which lady that works in that store, attitude is disgusting. Poor co workers having to deal with that on a daily basis. I wouldn’t eat here again even after giving multiple chances.

I really wanted to like Catskills Bagel Co., but every visit has been disappointing. The communication here is terrible. More than once, I’ve called ahead and been told that bagels were in stock, only to walk 15 minutes just to find out there are none available. It’s extremely frustrating, especially when I’m going out of my way based on what they told me over the phone.

On top of that, the shop is noticeably expensive for what it offers, and half the time they don’t even have the basics ready. It doesn’t make sense for a bagel shop to constantly be out of bagels.

Between the miscommunication, the lack of inventory, and the high prices, this place just isn’t worth the trip. Hopefully they improve, but right now it’s a letdown every time.

A bit of a hectic atmosphere but the owner was very sweet and checked in on everyone inside and outside often. Loved my Ruben and heard multiple people praise the cinnamon rolls and pastries that I’ll definitely be trying next time.

I’ve been in the neighborhood for a few years and the quality is inconsistent. Yesterday, I thought I’d give it another try. The bagel itself was good, but the lox spread was off. It was very granular and the few lox pieces in the spread were chewy. I wish there was another bagel place in the neighborhood.

I come here once in a while, but after getting bagel and other places, I realize the bagels here are not as fresh. The other big problem is that they don’t take card. They only take cash unless you purchase more than $10. I only left today after coming so many times because they completely messed up the order even though I was the only one in the store at the time

Too sweet!!! Tastes like cake to me.
$2.00 a plain bagel?!!!! C’mon!!!
I’ve seen these prices charged on Madison Avenue.

They raised their bagel prices
35 percent in the 6 months since I’ve been here. That’s shameful, considering that inflation and food costs haven’t gone up 35 percent in 6 months. I know what food business operating costs are since I used to be in the business, and these prices are not a place I would recommend to anyone, considering the inconsistency of the bagels. And no, these are not the classic New York bagels that I am use to eating.

The decor is ok, but not a single member of that staff or manager/owner said hello or welcomed me, and I was one of only 2 customers in the store. It felt cold.
I sincerely would have appreciated someone saying hi to me, or even a thank you after my purchase (nope- that didn’t happen).

$1.50 for the plain bagel (Aug 2022)

They just ignored me and two people skip ahead me in the line. It’s a really bad first impression to be so rude. I went to connecticut muffin down the street and got much better treatment.

I specifically asked for the bread to be toasted, multiple times even, and it was extremely soft. Not even toasted a tiny bit. I had to go home and toast it myself.

I ordered a muffin , she asked me if I wanted to warm it up because it was cold. I asked her why would it be cold? . She put it in a toaster to warm it and gave it to me after. however, when I bit into it was as cold as ice and a bit stale. If you’re charging $4.50 for a muffin it should at least be warm and fresh.
