I recently had the chance to visit Cha Cha Matcha while exploring Dumbo, and I was eager to check them out. The service at the franchise was definitely a highlight; the staff was fast, friendly, and made the ordering process smooth and enjoyable. I decided to try the strawberry matcha, which sounded intriguing and perfect for a refreshing treat.
While I was excited to dig in, I found the matcha itself to be just average. The flavor was somewhat underwhelming, and I noticed a distinct aftertaste that lingered longer than I would have liked. Unfortunately, the syrup was so overpowering that it masked the matcha’s natural flavor, making it hard to appreciate its subtleties. For $8, I expected a more blend of flavors that highlighted the matcha itself rather than overshadowing it.
I did enjoy the nice atmosphere of the shop, inside the big time out market, which made for a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the experience. The taste of the strawberry matcha didn’t quite meet my expectations. I might be willing to give Cha Cha Matcha another try with a different drink next time!
Parking: Parking for Cha Cha Matcha can be a bit of a hassle, as it’s quite far from the actual location. You’ll need to plan ahead, as finding a nearby spot can take some time. The streets in Dumbo can get crowded, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a little bit of a trek. Once you find parking, be ready for a short walk to the market. The distance isn’t too bad, but it does require some extra effort.

Matcha was very diluted with the milk and no flavor at all. And the color was the lightest green, I had to request extra matcha shot in it. For a place that has matcha in the name you think they would specialize in making good matcha.

Shop vibes are very cute decor wise with a good amount of seating, they have their own Cha Cha merch you can buy for die hard fans (hoodies etc), and the staff are pretty friendly!

I had an iced matcha latte and a pain au chocolat, I liked them a lot! Often in other coffee makers, for my taste, they put too much or too little powder, so the flavor of the drink is too strong or too light, however in this one it was perfect, the matcha was noticeable, but it wasn't invasive! The prices are a little higher than the other coffee shops I went to in New York and the environment is very nice, comfortable and well looked after. I would happily return, I recommend it!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. My go-to is to double fist the Matcha Chai and Cha Cha Colada. Makes me feel like I’m the picture of health and wellness. Both are delightful. The staff are just the most lovely people. The location is rad. I might move to Dumbo just to go here every morning.
