Wait staff is 99.9% nice, they're always very polite when we visit. Love the sushi and tatsuta-age.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I used to LOVE Chikurin. Even before they moved from 23rd avenue, to two blocks down. Always my go-to place for sushi. However, Chikurin has done me dirty not once, but twice; and I am no longer going to take any risks with their food.
The first time, I was eating a shrimp tempura roll and I ended up pulling a thick, long black hair out of my throat. It was perfectly rolled right into that piece I was eating. I threw away the entire order and didn’t eat sushi for a long time after that. Months. I started to miss eating sushi and I chalked it up to a one time occurrence and started ordering from Chikurin once again. On October 1st, 2024, I ordered Chikurin for the last time, as I ended up in the hospital with food poisoning the next day. I also had orchestra tickets to Cabaret that night, that went completely to waste as I was literally vomiting and shitting myself at the same time. Who knew my sushi craving would end with me in the back of an ambulance and an IV in my arm.
No more Chikurin for me. I waited months for Cabaret.

I’ve been going to this place for a very long time and their food never disappoints. I always get the bbq squid because the taste is so good and I usually get the bento box chicken teriyaki or just the normal chicken teriyaki because the meat is tender and the teriyaki sauce is amazing. And don’t forget about the desert I always like the shell they put the ice cream in it’s a good combination and it still surprises me how the ice cream does not melt in the hot shell.

I hate writing stuff like this, but I don’t want anyone to get sick. I ordered sushi here with my friends for delivery, and there was a live parasite on one of the pieces of raw fish. I understand fish carry parasites and that is normal but the fact that it’s still alive tells me it wasn’t prepared and flash frozen correctly. I’m sure these things can happen but please be careful as this can make you very ill.

Came here once with my friend, did not regret it! They gave us so much katsu for a pretty low price which was astonishing and it comes with miso and a salad. The dressing for the salad made it tasty with the right flavor and acidity, the miso soup was just right! Meal was really filling, maybe too filling. Customer service wasn't bad either, they were quick and accommodating.
