If you’ve ever wanted to experience the thrill of waiting three hours for food you’ll regret eating in three minutes, this is the spot for you. Not only is the food aggressively mid, but the restaurant insists on using their own “delivery people” for Uber Eats, which I can only assume is code for “that one guy on a bicycle with a flat tire.”

Every 20 minutes you’ll get a reassuring message that your order is “almost ready,” which is apparently restaurant-speak for “we haven’t even looked at your ticket yet but please keep believing in us.”

If you’re into performance art disguised as customer service and like your sushi with a side of existential dread, then congratulations—you’ve found your new favorite place.

I usually do not leave bad reviews, but honestly, after years of going to this place. I'm extremely disappointed. I know the prices of everything. Have been going up so likely they're doing budget cuts... But the sushi was awful. It tasted stale, soggy and not fresh AT ALL. honestly, what a disappointment?I will not be coming back here at all ever again.

We've been here many times, but when we came as a group and ordered sushi rolls, one of the rolls we received was not what we had ordered. We didn’t know what it was supposed to look like since there are no pictures, so we ate it. At the end, we were charged $15 more than expected.

We were told that they charged us for a different roll because they “misheard” the name, but we had clearly written down the correct order. In the end, we overpaid by $15.

Please be careful when placing your order.

This is the only sushi restaurant i go to and the food tastes amazing, you have to go try it and get the Futo Maki roll as its insanely good!! It is a bit pricey though, costing around 80 dollars for 6 or 7 different rolls but i think its worth it as it is really good taste wise, and the atmosphere is great, and there is also an aquarium with fish in there, aswell as bamboo and overall great atmosphere. But I will say this place is only really meant to have a max amount of people of 4-6 because anymore people will be too much. But you can host birthday parties in the second floor downstairs with more than 6 people which is nice, as it wont disrupt people in the main floor

A classic Brooklyn sushi place that still delivers excellence, decades into existence. I was a regular when I dwelled in South Brooklyn 15 years ago, and randomly walked in today after a long absence. I was pleased and impressed - fish is very fresh, rolls are perfect and tight, service is lightning fast and unobtrusive!

Ordered a pick up order, lady on the phone said 25 min. I came after 30min and paid, nobody said there's going to be a long wait before I paid. Waited on their couch for an additional 30 min with my kid. Watched them give delivery guys orders while ignoring us. They didn't bother to offer even a water or anything to me or my kid, even after I brought up the long wait with them. Probably the worst customer service I experienced in a long time. Their sushi is fine but there are plenty of other sushi places near by similarly priced with similar quality. This place obviously doesn't want my business, I suggest you take your business elsewhere too.

This restaurant has been a local favorite since the beginning. Our favorite Japanese restaurant, we have been eating there for over 10 years.
We normally dine-in but they are quite popular with takeouts & deliveries, all fish is always fresh
& large selection of special rolls.
We literally tried their whole menu, over the years. Our all-time favorite is Sashimi deluxe, salmon & tuna tartare & they also have a salad version with avocado.
For this visit we had foie gras & tuna toro appetizers , AK-47 special roll, salmon skin salad , few pieces of white tuna & salmon sashimi. All delicious & beautiful presentation. Salmon skin has been over-grilled last few visits though.
Green tea ice cream is always amazing as well.

Where do I start. Ordered teriyaki , which was mostly sauce and onions, barely any shrimp. Rice was stale and old. Anyways will not come back, there are other sushi places in Sheepshead Bay. This place used to be much better

I have been going to Chikurin consistently for probably at least the last 10 years. I even remember whenever my family would take me here if I graduated high school or college. This place is probably the best sushi spot in Sheepshead Bay by a pretty great margin.

The sushi is always extremely fresh and the cooked appetizers are incredible and delicious. I always appreciate the hot tea and the iced water, and the exceptionally fast and speedy, attentive service. The quality of the food is superb and the variety of cocktails makes Chikurin a hit for all ages. I especially appreciate the oyster selection as well.

I highly recommend this spot for all sushi and lovers of Asian cuisine. You can’t beat the quality of sushi at this affordable price point.

Be careful this place uses unethical practices. They charge automatically a 20% service charge to any bill of any size and then on top of that if you're paying with a credit card they add a 3% surcharge fee.

That's why we all stopped going there with a dozen other sushi places around...

And looks like they're going for bankruptcy...
