I was there last week with a friend after quite a few years that I haven't been there. Well, in my opinion, after eating at China Glatt many times before throughout the last 30 years, I can clearly say that they went way down reaching the lowest point in the world of restaurants.Their hygiene status is first and foremost awful and disgusting. They have 2 toilets that don't work and only one toilet available upstairs next to their event room which as you can imagine, it's always busy. The entire floor of the restaurant was slippery, literally from oil that is covering the ground. The chairs are worn-out and broken and even those gray couches are already unstable. On top of all that, one of their Chinese chefs came out from the kitchen walking through the restaurant with a disgusting dirty apron, which had already turned off my entire appetite for that time. With that said, it seems like the old owner and his son don't give a damn about the place. They just don't care because they are the only Kosher Chinese food restaurant in this area, serving the Jewish community in Brooklyn for decades. And as long people are coming in and pay, the owners are happy to continue as it is.The food, though, is still good but not as it used to be.I believe that this place must go under a serious change in management before it deserves to totally be closed down.
It boggles my mind how badly they messed up my order!I ordered an "assorted appetizer platter". Instead I got a large fries with 3 chicken fingers.I also ordered an Asian chicken/veggie lunch, with rice and soup. I got (more) fries instead of rice, and no soup!
