I make it my business to hit my favorite ramen spot every time I'm in Brooklyn

The food quality at this place has declined. This used to be my favorite ramen place in New York, years ago. I hadn't been back in probably 5 years. The ramen options have changed- there's no longer a classic Tonkotsu style ramen. We got two ramens: The sesame garlic ramen tasted strange, not very good at all. The pickled cabbage didn't work. The other was a miso ramen which was okay but the noodles felt cheap and all it came with was corn. You now have to build your own ramen with add ons- eggs and pork don't come included, so the ramen can get pricey quickly. The pork buns were fine and the special pork katsu with curry was fatty but pretty good. So overall, it's a very expensive ramen that really isn't that good. I'd rather try any other ramen place than this one and, as I said, this used to be my favorite.

Great service and ownership! Tater tots with Bonita flakes were so delicious. 10/10 would return.

Haven't dined in at Chuko in a few years but I remember its heyday - the place was ALWAYS packed. This time we were one of 3 tables. I can see why...the food is just not the same quality it once was.

Highly suggest not ordering take out from here. The service has deteriorated over the years to a shameful level. There’s always something missing and then you can’t even reach an actual person. The information provided by the number listed on the receipt says leave a message but then the mailbox is full! Anyway, the most recent atrocity occurred when we ordered three ramens but they only sent two broths! This isn’t cheap ramen either. So we are stuck with cold noodles and splitting two dishes three ways. Strongly suggest ordering somewhere else.

Ordered to go since we live around the corner. Garlic sesame ramen was tasteless and the kimchi ramen was fine. Not spicy at all which could be a plus. The steamed chicken is juicy and cooked well. May be better if you dine in but do not recommend takeout.

i had always wanted to try this place, but i was gravely disappointed by the food when i finally did. it lacked flavor, and as another review mentioned, the ramen was pretty mid. that said, the staff was very sweet and helpful, and the service was fast. i'd be open to trying it again in the future -- hopefully the food improves!

It was all so delicious!!!! Forgot to take a picture of the ramen...but it's so worth it. Also had the chili wings and pork bun...all yes. And Christopher was a great server!

Still one of the best ramen places in NYC. The kimchi ramen is a favorite, as is the miso ramen. Brussels sprouts are also fantastic. They are also very kid-friendly with reasonably priced options (not always a given even in this neighborhood)

great service, amazing staff, good atmosphere but the ramen is incredibly mid. broth is average at best and the noodles are also okay. can’t comment on the rest of the menu (apps, etc). i’ve been here twice (four years apart) and there are better spots in brooklyn. will probably not return.

Miso ramen didn't taste of miso at all...

Noodles and cabbage both tasted undercooked. I won't be going back.

Really wish this was a better experience.

It is difficult to find a mid ramen place but this is def one of them. Everything from drinks to food is overpriced and NOT worth it. Oh they also charge for “NON CASH ADJUSTMENT FEE”. This place is a joke.
